    The Moana Pasifika Franchise

He is born and raised in NZ and is only half Tongan, hardly snapped up from the Islands. Would be pretty fucked up if he wasn't allowed the opportunity to represent his country of birth.

    The Moana Pasifika Franchise

Tana isn't on the NZR payroll to be fair, in fact, he seems pretty committed to encouraging Kiwi born players to switch over to Samoa etc.

    NSW Waratahs 2026

Appears the Chiefs may be losing a couple of midfielders, Tupaea a possibility, so he may play a bigger part than expected.

    Aussie Player Exodus

Just out of boredom, had a look over the academies for the French teams, they're littered with young kiwis and Ozzies, it's not just the bigger names they're signing up. Oddly few South Africans on the other hand.

    NSW Waratahs 2026

Considering the depth of the Chiefs midfield, seems a strange get. Suppose this probably confirms Gideon Wrampling has signed overseas.

    The Moana Pasifika Franchise

He's eligible for Australia, having lived there most of his life.

    Wallabies 2025

Have always thought the same, particularly the ones who kick on for the All Blacks.

Ethan De Groot was also born in Australia. They're all kiwis though to be fair.

    Western Force 2025

Midfield depth is really going to be tested for next season. Perhaps picked up Harry Wilson?

    Queensland Reds 2026

So who are the likely frontrunners for Fullback? Heremaia Murray? Perhaps Flook gets shifted? Feel his skillset would suit Fullback. Assuming of course that Jock doesn't sign on.

    Lions Tour 2025

Some serious talent in there, past and upcoming ABs, could put a proper international standard team out between AU/NZ.

    Queensland Reds 2026

Ideally too, they'd really push star power as well. NRL are great at elevating their stars, and Wobs have been pushing JAS hard, but NZ seem to want to protect the AB brand at the expense of pushing any one player above, which means a myriad of Warriors are becoming household names here in NZ.

    Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

Grealy went 28 games without scoring a try, now he's training with the Wallabies. Poolman is bang average, a big body, his continued selection is baffling.

    Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

I'm sure 20 year old Leahy will come along fine, he's likely received more game time at WF than he would anywhere else. Possibly premature to call a fumble? Meanwhile, Grealy has had his best ever season.

    Wallabies 2025

His Instagram has him and Sua'ali'i both in the gym getting reps in, looks like they'll both be set to return soon.
