All good Subbies, take your time releasing a draw for division 5 and 6 it’s not like the season starts THIS WEEK or anything.

I’m sure Subbies are just making sure every thing in Div 1 is perfect first……

I wouldn't be too harsh on Subbies. They hear one thing from some clubs club and something different the week after. This year has been the biggest divisional restructure in a while. Although fixtures should be known at least 2 weeks out...

i.e hearing Forest probably won’t field a colts for rd 1. If you can’t field a team in Rd 1 what does that mean for rest of the season?

They only won the Barbour Cup 2 years ago….

Don't forget it's a disjointed start to the season too - one week of games, Easter break and a de facto long weekend with ANZAC Day on a Friday.

They say you don't win premierships in the first month but you can lose them. Will be interesting in April.

As late as last Friday a club said they had more numbers than what they'd said all preseason.

And TBF it isn't just clubs - players blowing in last minute because they can't plan more than a few days ahead in their lives do not help club administrators.

Convicts have “merged” with Maccabi and will be filling their 2nd grade slot this year rather than playing in there own in Div 6

It's an interesting move given it leaves Div 6 with potentially 9 clubs.

Will make the Grose Cup a lot tougher...

Maybe we need to set a cutoff line? Get players registered by (date) to determine which division you can apply for?

At least that way everyone is clear on the deadlines, Subbies can make Divisions based on real data, and we can have draws out early.

(it would of course help if Subbies clubs had local alignment with schools and juniors to understand the numbers they might receive into a Colts program etc etc)

I won’t believe that till the season kicks off.

Given that there is no game time down for them. I’d assume Subbies are giving them some time and rather then forfeit let them reschedule when they have guys available. Always a tough sell for then team who is ready to play on the day.
