Couldnt make it down to the game but heard cranbrook had a great secon half, giving some young 2nds players a run late as it is still a trial, does anyone have a game review, who won forwards and backs, any standout players?

Any news from Waverley on the big fella Cy Preketes?

Have heard a major offseason has been undertaken, and he's looking more potent than ever. He managed to crack a few games in the 1s last year off the bench, whilst only being in year 10. Although being a younger member of the squad this season, and if all true, he could be a crucial part to the overall success of a strong Waverley team this season!

The game was won the the second half by Cranbrook, they came out of the sheds the dominant side. The Cranbrook backs utilised the kicking game, and it was elite. All forwards played very solid, excellent scrums, carrying well and work in the breakdown. Although this may not be a complete 1s team for Shore, no excuses Cranbrook just were the dominant side after half time.

I was at the Cranbrook game and thought Cranbrook's second half was extremely good. The first half looked like more of an even matchup as both teams had errors such as drop balls and more. Cranbrook overall looked a stronger side. The forwards who stood out to me were, Cruz Cronan (2), very strong carries with the ball and great defense. Levi Funa-Iuta (3), in my opinion the best forward of the day, two strong tries, multiple convincing carries... a very dominant force. The whole front row was good at controlling the scrum and did well to win most. Jack Weeks (4) very good in defense and some good offloads. Baxter Torrence (9) had some great kicks off the ruck with one leading to a try assist. Charlie Harris (10), was one of the best backs there, great kicking game and strong in defense. Taj Aufai-Farani (13) was very good too, some strong and dominant carries. Both Wingers did well at shutting down shores option to attack out wide. Matt O'Neil (15) had a great kicking game too with some good nudges and a good attacking awareness going forward. Overall these were my standouts, the whole team in the second half did perform very well, a great improvement from the trinity game I was at, hopefully Cranbrook can carry this form into next term and perform how they did.

Congratulations to Cranbrook.

I am refereeing Cranbrook this Thursday when they play Kings Christian College on the Gold Coast. it will be interesting to see what the Gold Coast schools standard is like compared to a perceived lower ranked CAS team.

and how many football?
unfortunately very hard to tell now that all school announcements are through the school app and tailored to every student's level: takes away the opportunity to engage more broadly (eg students/parents can't see any other teams other than the one their own son is in) :-(
