Should be some solid contests this weekend. If Cranbrook can show a bit of promise out there, it’ll go a long way. That said, as mentioned earlier, they’re a bit banged up at the moment carrying a few short-term injuries and blooding some debutants in both the 1st and 2nd XVs.
I dont mind that, i feel cranbrooks has created a powerfull full strength 1s side but injurys have had them yet to really fire. If cranbrook can field their full strength side throughout CAS dont rule them out.
I've got the 3s being a good game, Newington by a few. As for the seconds, i dont see much promise for cranbrook coming off a 68-0 loss to riverview. 1s will also be good but cranbrook may struggle to overcome a powerful Newington side with there current injury ridden XV.
100% cranbrook throwing the chequebook at it to win this year. Some great new players dropped straight into the firsts.
There's a bunch of guys coming through. Some already playing in the opens and some still playing under 15's or U16's
Agreed with Soccer, Australia has never been a soccer nation that is competitive at the hgihest level, yet it seems the global dominance of the game draws so many players. Schools have soccer teams to the 7ths and 8ths! From my experience back at school, i remeber countless large rugby players in lower teams due to lack of ball and technical skills being taken by soccer programs, weakening numbers and size in rugby programs. Obviously i think there would be some kids who are better at soccer or more suited for it, making removal of programs unfair, but just something to think about.

Lorima at Barker in the 15s. He is one of, if not, the most talented gen blue player from last year and dominates in his age group.
