Anyone have the Scots 1st and 2nds team lists for the weekend?
I've heard word about maybe moving Lemoto to 12 due to some injuries regarding the backs, not 100% sure though.Anyone have the Scots 1st and 2nds team lists for the weekend?
It'll be intresting, if true, to see how shores backs handel him as he will be a ball running threat but also used as a playmaker. Will be a great watch...I've heard word about maybe moving Lemoto to 12 due to some injuries regarding the backs, not 100% sure though.
Newington 2's 13+ $1.01Breaking news: Makasini is playing 2's this week
Seen some good things from Scots 5th XV with a dominant win over Kings. 30 something nil. Will see how they hold up against stronger opponents (Joeys by the sounds of it).Does anyone know which 5th XV teams are looking strong this season?
I see where you're coming from, but I believe the Joeys have a stronger overall team. It's important to remember that victories will not come from a single player it's the collective effort that makes the difference.Newington 2's 13+ $1.01
Excited to see how having Wendt (E) at fullback will differ and change this for Shore.Shores backline has looked a bit clunky and disorganised this far, but with Callaghan and Bassingthwaighte returning they should see big improvements.
Agree! pre-season chat focused on the size (lack of) from the Shore forward pack. Hard to compare to years gone by and the likes of Baxter & Harveson, but across last two games they have proved themselves to be strong and most importantly very tough.Terrific improvement on Shores mauling ability as well, especially with a smaller forward pack in most competitive teams, especially opens.
Perhaps a rethink on the internal investment made in certain students across the schools...If true, this will be yet another loss from gps’s rugby union to league. Disappointing stuff…
Minto was originally from Waverley, and only joined Joeys last year. Little bitta music scholarships here and there, but it's alright, it's Joeys no one bats an eye. This kid has got some serious talent, playing #15 for St Jospeh's 1XV in year 10 is hard enough as it is, but playing well and dominating against other opponents at the first XV level is not to be underestimated. This kid is going somewhere.

There are some obvious ones..What schools across GPS offer music scholarships as a way of bypassing the maximum sport scholarship?
Agreed, some schools offer places to boys who are exceptional at a certain sport (majority of the time it is rugby however)As far as I know, every school in the CAS/GPS has a full team of scholarships, except for Aloysius. You can assume almost every school gives out sneaky 'music' or 'academic' scholarships to their first XV players.

Lets stop that there, and follow @TheRock to the scholarships thread...What schools across GPS offer music scholarships as a way of bypassing the maximum sport scholarship?
Gents, there's a thread for this discussion

I think they have a nice structure. The framework is good, but the execution has lacked in the final 10. If they can close it out, they could see a result...Shores backline has looked a bit clunky and disorganised this far, but with Callaghan and Bassingthwaighte returning they should see big improvements.
Will be interesting with Wentd filling in the full back role, hopefully they can hold on to the final moments where they slipped last week. Shore will be hard to stop if they can fill those gaps.I think they have a nice structure. The framework is good, but the execution has lacked in the final 10. Totally, I felt, it was a similar scenario in a few of their trial games, coming from behind, where they needed to hold their energy and playingWill be interesting with Wentd filling in the full back role, hopefully they can hold on to the final moments where they slipped last week. Shore will be hard to stop if they can fill those gaps.
