Queensland Reds 2026

I should add though I think this is a great initiative. There is down side to virtually everything but, IMO, the benefits here would seem to far outweigh the negatives. QRU has kicked some real goals over the last couple of years.

It’s 3 players from my understanding.
Werchon, Bryant and Flook aren’t gonna affect club rugby that much.
And back to kiss I thought he was apologising because there were players in BIL tour that weren’t available for club rugby?
In any case whilst they miss club rugby they would all come back with more experience and lessons that help their club or comp improve. Anyways great initiative.

Asiata too, but yes. I see this as a clear acknowledgement from the Reds front office that club rugby simply does not prepare players for fully professional rugby, hence the move to get as much rugby into their players as possible.

Start calling these blokes Scotland soon...
The brumbies claim that they "develop" them. Reality as it's always been pretty much all the talent comes out of QLD and NSW and we just can't keep them all.
In saying that I don't think Marten's is an ex-BBC student so they may not want him.

Interesting - I believe he went straight from the injury list here at home into their pre-season squad. Probably didn't get himself right.

Why do they end up with the Better players then?
