Wallabies 2025

It will be a disgrace if Meredith misses out to someone like HMP or either one of the Tahs No 10s. He was behind the top No 10 in the country and in his Super Rugby appearances this year clearly showed he is as good as Noah, maybe better. He is definitely more mature and capable player than those others at this stage of their respective careers.*

Meredith clearly as good as Noah, maybe better? come on man… why wasn’t he starting over Noah then

Stephen Larkham's favourite. Imo he had a greater range of skills than Noah but played to the game plan designed around the more limited skills possessed by Noah. Let loose he is a much more attacking No 10 and would be a bonus in the Wallabies squad.

You said in the post above that Noah was best 10 in the country, now you’re saying it was just Larkham favouritism?

I’m not debating the merits of Merediths/HMP/Edmed selection, I just think suddenly claiming/inferring that Meredith is equal to and maybe better than Noah, the best 10 in Oz, is a bit ridiculous.

Agree BR. If it is true Lynagh and Edmed out, I suspect JOC (James O'Connor) will tour SA and I'd definitely look at Meredith as a tourist. Tough initiation if required.

Now that the Lions series is over I hope that they start testing out some of these newer players to give them some experience and the opportunity to develop. 10 is a problem position and one that RA should be working with all the provinces to develop and improve their stocks of players. Larkham was a great 10 but that doesn't seem to have rubbed off on Noah, so like BR said, why not have a look at Meredith - at least bring these guys into training squads if it is too early to play them, give them different voices and ideas and see what they do with it. If need be look at players who could switch positions - Larkham was a 15 before moving to 10, don't know if there is anyone who could do similar but getting good, solid experience in the playmaker role is needed.

Bring in Lonergan, Ross, Samu, Swain and LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) for the TRC
Lonergan is straight in with Gordon/White out. Probably need an extra half on top of Lonergan, watch parochialism debate over who this should be.

CDC’s performances for Force and Wallabies against Lions was underwhelming I thought, despite a great Super Rugby season so his spot is on the line with Samu back in Oz.

Not sure who drops out for LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) and Swain as the incumbents have done well. If Skelton isn’t touring then I think you need LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto).

As for 5/8, JOC (James O'Connor) is in the squad currently and expect he will tour, with a development 5/8 taken along also.

Probably have Swain in for Canham, I think Canham only replaced Swain for the Lions squad because he was injured in the Force game

Forgot Canham was in the squad, even as a Reds fan I’d take Swain over Canham.

Canham will be good in another 12-18months though, incredibly athletic but still needs refinement on some of his tight play and physicality. Bit like Frost.

I would say HMP would be that development flyhalf to take along. He was in the Anzac squad over Meredith.
I hope we wouldn’t need to play him though.

Has there been any announcement for Skelton? I thought TRC was an approved international window so the French can't recall him back?

I can't remember the last time we had two excellent back to back games. It makes winning back the Bledisloe possible if we can get two good games.

His French clubs can't block him, but they can not pay him for when he's not with them, which has resulted in Skelton making himself unavailable previously

So what's the deal with Tupou? Buggering off is he? Does he remain in the 4N squad? Seems to have got himself off the couch. TH prop is a real problem. Nongorr was not much better than Robinson. How the heck did Aus rugby not stay in the loop in Skelton's contract negotiations to make sure he remains available when needed with compensation? They dropped a huge ball.

Nonggorr was pretty good mate.
AAA is injured. TT should be in the squad for RC. Might not be needed for spring tour.
