Agreed mate, I believe 3rd, 4th grade & Colts 3 are all playing finals as well
I don’t know whether this would have been the return that Herbie & Spindle would have aspired to for the club.

I think it is a c-minus result.

Most concerning would be the colts where they have been very competitive of recent times.

Still too early to give final grades.

Missing Prem grade from Finals automatically removes any chance of getting an A grade.

2nds, 3rds, 4ths, 6ths and Colts 3 into Finals.

If they manage to pick up 2-3 premierships, particularly the 2nd grade one, I reckon it's a B+ overall.

Wait and see.

If GPS is of concern then Souths' 2025 results are catastrophic. Just one team, Colts 2, in the QRU finals and one team, 6th grade in the Normanby Cup finals. The worst Club result in recent memory. Second last in the Doughty Shield after being second, last year.
Not sure how it will turn around in 2026 but as they say "hope springs eternal" but they also say "it's the hope that kills you".

Warhorse did Garrick Morgan make many appearances down at the club in 2025? I know there were health issues but it sounded like the plan was to still have him around where possible.

Or does this feel like a big shift away from the last couple of years?

My apologies. 4th in Doughty Shield last year and 2nd in 2022.

What are their 2nd grade chances? Brothers have been quite dominant in that grade for a number of years - I think GPS went down to Easts in the GF a couple of years back. Brothers were minor premiers for about the 6th year in a row - might even be more.

It is a grade that GPS seem to be perennial grand finalists without often securing success on GF day.

Brothers, Easts & Bond (and Wests for that matter) have been very good in Reggie’s at times this year so in political terms I wouldn’t be counting that as a safe seat!!

GPS have always been pretty handy in 2nd grade. I can't remember all the way back in recent history, but I know they've won premierships in 2011, 2012, 2014, 2017 and most recently 2019.

Made the GF in 2023 (lost to Easts as you mention) and knocked out by Wests in the 2024 quarter finals last year.

I think they've got a strong side. I actually think the depth at GPS this year has been quite good across the club, but the skill level has capped out as good 2nd grade level players. Not enough genuine 1st graders/fringe professional level to have competed in Premier grade.

Souths defeated UQ in 2021, Souths lost in the last 30 seconds to Brothers in 2022.

If its a c- minus for GPS easily a F result for Souths, one team in the finals colts 2.
Slippery slide to the bottom last 3 years. Doherty Shield 2nd-2023, 4th -2024, 8th -2025.
2nd, 3rd & 4th all on or near bottom of table at seasons end. No 5th grade or colts 3 after such a successful Colts program in previous years. Any opinions on the decline?
Definitely some poor decisions to move on coaches who were popular and successful, appears to have had a bearing on the whole club.
Be a hard fix in a short time frame but certainly achievable with some changes and smarter personal in key roles. Money might make you competitive in Prems but it doesn't help the whole club.

University have had a horrible year as well. Only got Colts 1 and 5th Grade in finals.
Wow - that hurts. Maybe it will teach them a bit of humility.
Something I think the younger brigade at Wests need a shot of as they don’t have any appreciation of the times when the club was not so successful.
