Souths have just announced Adrian Thompson's Assistant Coaches for 2026.
Paul Keene former Souths Premier Grade player, Colts Coach, Sunnybank Premier Grade Assistant Coach, and most importantly 2025 Normanby Cup player and winner.
Ben Armstrong former Sunnybank Coach and General Manager, Leinster Coach.
Albert VuliVuli former Souths Premier Grade player, Reds Super Rugby player, French Top 14 professional player and Fiji RWC player.
A very strong coaching group for 2026.

Congratulations to Steve on his appointment but unfortunately I see it as a massive missed opportunity for Souths to lose a member of the stalwart Kefu family to a rival club.

It's silly season but interestingly this year the focus has been more on Coaching changes than players.

So, any word on players switching clubs or new recruits coming in?

Have heard in relation to player movement, that Easts are losing Eli Pilz and Meli Dreu. Not to other QPR clubs though, Pilz reitiring from QPR and playing with mates on Sunny Coast, and Dreu has train and trial deal with Drua but also linked up with Shute Shield team (Marlins??). If true big loss for Easts, 2 of their main playmakers

I expect with most of the coaching appointments being made public over the last few weeks, it means the proper recruitment for season 2026 will begin now.
