Wallabies v England November 1

Schmidt needs to give a whole rethink to this tour - obviously with injuries and availability something needs to change in the game plan

The forward pack is solid and still has Skelton and hooper to come back
The backline looks like a pack of random blokes who just turned up to a training field for the first time
Really missing ikatau and wright
Paisami and Sua'ali'i are individual players - they done help the backline sing
We havnt used the backline and in particular back 3 well for months now
How long does this Edmed guy hold a spot?

As a reasonable neutral (ok cheering a bit for Wallabies) I thought was a quite reasonable test to watch. Poms just seemed a little to strong in all round forward play, and perhaps Wallabies will be a little disappointed at how clunky they looked on transition to attack.

Some good performances by individuals but we only scored one try which was from an intercept. We didn't really look like scoring at all. The game plan is an odd one. Even when we are 50 out we have most of our players all in 15m of each other in attack. Not sure how Pollock's try was allowed. He crawls from 8m. Surely you have to get to your feet to keep going. The first penalty we gave away should have been a penalty for us and an easy 3 points. Called not rolling away when the wallabies players were on our side of the ruck. After that I thought here we go, but the ref wasn't half bad for the game. Not one player had a shocker. With the talent we have in the backline I would like to see us with some more traditional play.

Losing to England hurts. Pollock is an absolute flog. We would have lost by 40 if it wasn't for potter

Here's a stat line for England success

Max Jorgensen. 67mins.
1 carry
for 2m. 4 passes. 4 kicks.
10 tackles. 4 missed
Probably one of the first games he’s had where you’d say he was poor.

Wasn’t alone. Hunter has a go in defence but offers nothing in attack. Frost goes missing around the park as well. Both locks decent at lineout and Williams covering a few tackles but threatening wise they pose absolutely none.

2 England tries from high balls, and two from the maul.

Australia's backline not showing much, and our points come from turnover and counter attack.

Probably pretty much as expected before the game.

As others have said, we really miss Wright. That Ellia Park win is starting to look like quite the outlier.

God is there anything worse than losing to the Poms? And throw in Austin Healey on comms for the cherry on top.

Didn't think England played that well but they didn't need to. We offered nothing. Scoreline should have been 30+ if Ford hadn't fluffed so many kicks.

Probably right. Harsher post comfortable defeat always happens.

Just a side that pose little threat. 130 carries to Aus, 98 England but 230 post contact meters to Aus and 251 to England.

Lord Laurie’s defence made 108 tackles with 18 misses and England make 189 with 13 misses.

In summary I guess we played like a team ranked 7th in the world that wasn’t allowed to select its best lock, fly half and inside centre, and its best fullback sidelined.

Now the focus comes on the lack of Schmidt’s game plan. A game plan that currently doesn’t involve allowing our two most dangerous players Jorgo and Sualli from touching the ball. It’s time for Les Kiss to take control.
