Dan Stovold was a great player and a fabulous captain, but Dring & Flarerty were brilliant 2nd row partners and my pick. Finau played as a prop at school but is selected as hooker for Aust schools along with Edwards. So Barkers 2022 team has 2 hookers in the Aust team. I think Finau best...
Very interesting discussion on the best teams from last 10 years. Well done RR1954 for suggesting it. As for a Barker I would love to hear Coach Hargreaves thoughts on the topic. But given he will never appear on this site I will give it a shot.
1. Dion Yazdani.(2021) (Best schoolboy prop in...
In a nice touch of fair play, when the Nudgee hooker was yellow carded, Barker also dropped a player from their scrum. Whether this is a rule in schoolboy rugby or just fair play by Barker I dont know. But there was at least 3 scrums where Hooper (8) was not in the scrum and the Nudgee hooker...
Well 25 nil speaks volumes. Probably should have been 40 nil, but Barker were very rusty and it showed. Hooper, Katoa, Sayoun, Phillipson, Poynton were excellent
As a ex Churchie and Barker student, I would say that Barker would beat Churchie. The Nudgee game was scrappy but at the core, Barker wins possession, plays the right end of field and takes the points. The 2nd best schoolboy side in Aust is Joeys at Hunters Hill. Barker is the best side in 2022.
Barker defeat Nudgee 25 nil. Very scrappy game especially in 2nd half. But Barker 8 Lachlan Hooper and Katoa dominated. Nudgee were never allowed to get out of 1st gear.
Any Nudgee supporters at the game confirm the score? Is it 17 nil or 14 nil? Stan shows 14 but I think they are missing the penalty? Or did Katoa miss it in front?
As Churchie and Barker old boy (yes I went to both schools) this weekends game between Barker and Nudgee will be a cracker. If a Nudgee supporter could post a team sheet on Saturday that would be great.
Barker will be at full strength for this game. Issue for mine is whether they are a bit rusty as it has been 5 weeks since the end of the CAS comp, while Nudgee have a bye in the last round of the Qld GPS comp. I expect the Reds will put on a good show, but Nudgee at home will be tough.
Yes its a meteoric rise considering he was Capt of Barker 1st XV in 2019. And playing in the front row. He must be close to being the youngest hooker for the Wallabies considering he is still just 20 years old.
2022 was another good year for CAS rugby, following the cancellation of the 2021 season. It was close again with Barker and Knox showing that CAS rugby is closing the gap on our GPS colleagues, with Waves right in the mix. A win for the Cranbrook seconds in 2022 should see the 2023 season be...
Agree with Axe. The red card was justified. Knox lost their 10 for a take out of a player off the ball. Close to red but a yellow. But otherwise this game was a close as they get. Barker were stronger in the forwards and Knox were superior in the backs. Had to be 3000 to 4000. It was a fitting...
