This team has rugby experience and evilness. You pick Trump in the front row, but would he hold his side of the scrum up? And if he didn’t, whose fault would it be? And as an aside, are the selectors monitoring the Beale situation for if he’s eligible?
The stats above agree. I guess scrums were easier to tinker with to make safer. And it’s probable that more head knocks will eventuate from low tackles if the tackle height is lowered. But hopefully the numbers improve with the change.

We seem to have plenty of options in the backline if everyone’s fit, seems bringing Beale back wasn’t really that necessary. As others have said, the Tahs should’ve looked at bringing a locking option (with Rugby Australia top up) back from OS.

^Agreed. High tackles aren’t the only cause of head knocks. Defenders mistiming a low tackle and getting their head in the wrong place would be as much of a contributing factor, as would reckless clean outs. But it’s a start.

It might, and I say might, alter how players carry into contact. If the arms are always free, wouldn’t offloads be an easier way of going forward than a million pick and goes at waist height? if it happens that way, the breakdown and how teams approach it should change. I wonder how defensive...
