Who is this Tbone? Anyone who uses and spells the term short shrift correctly and is so well mannered is in my guess pre 1970s and probably went to Marist ?
Popped out for a look and yes SLC were below Par but AShgrove looked very sharp. The Ashgrove back row were Top class and the front row great as well. 10 , 12 ,15 tips in the backs. SLC had a few hard workers up front but they just couldn’t find the answers.
Nic Berry is the gold standard at present. he refereed the GPS / Uni game very well today. I love how he doesn't react to crowd ooos and aaahs and let's the tough stuff happen without going for the whistle at the first bit of tough contact. Definitely No 1 qld ref at present
After watching a few of the Easts v GPS games, came away thinking, it's 2016 and the gallopers still insist on singing their disrespectful , obnoxious ,sexist post game song. It's extraordinary that no one from the club hierarchy...or the QRU have stepped in and stopped it. Other club songs are...
Matey....Absolutely right the 16A no 8 was outstanding... Marist one that is
A tough game but Ashgrove dominated all over the paddock better
Backs Forwards and tactics score was really flattering for SLC
As a sideline Interesting info coming through MARIST AShgrove is playing league in 2016.... Looks a bit like the QRU ignoring their grassroots? Who's asleep at the Wheel there.
No that is incorrect, all are free to play Colts. I just hope in its sometimes misguided "wisdom" the QRU doesn't hold them back for NRC. My vote is let them play colts. Easts could sure use Wilkin. Why not make the Colts comp as good as it can possibly be.
I ended up at that Ashgrove v St Peters game...good game dominated by the Ashgrove pack. Second rower Byrne for Ashgrove and Setu (fullback) from Ipswich are supposed to be the 2 favorites for Qld schools from AIC. Look for them when GPS v AIC on Friday nite
