4 teams, bigger squads, a lot more games, central contracting controls. It's also taken Ireland a decade to get where they are now with a lot of domestic success and a lot of pain in 2019 rwc. Remember they lost to Japan in the group and got smashed by NZ in the quarters. Irish sides have won 8...
Skelton got flogged/and called out by O'Gara when he first showed up, he did no work in his off season and turned up in France out of shape and way off the mark. Think he learnt a big lesson and has remained professional year round since.
Not sure about other sides, by I know the Rebels sent a...
I think it's got a lot to do with the draw, Ireland did not need to field full strength during the warm up games. They have used the first two games as there warm up games, meant the fringe squad got more time before the world cup and now have been working towards this week. Also helps that they...
Will benefit the Wallabies in 15-20 years, when you poach all the Aussie born kids who have now moved back to Ireland and the UK with there parents who were out here avoiding the impact of the GFC.
I'd still with 5-3, I'd me sending Bundi at Eben sore shoulder early too. If it's not right it will be obvious, Boks lack of 2nd hooker should be a worry. Once Fourie is on there line out is up for the taking.
I hope Ireland don't change there plan, they know what SA was going to bring since the NZ game and would be prepared.
I just really hope we win, if we lose I'll have to stay off social media for 2 weeks because majority the Bok fans are already annoying.
Ireland breakdown clearance speed has been incredible for a while, SA need to find a way to slow Ireland down at the breakdown. Ireland need to find a way to counter the SA line speed.
I think you will see Ireland spreading the ball, and maybe playing a bit deeper. Bundi has gone from being on...
A couple of my English mates are coming out of the woodwork, started talking now that they feel they will finish better then the Wallabies. Round 1 had some good games, round 2 really didn't have any blockbuster game (Wallabies v Fiji) prob the game of the round and at possibly the worst time...
Do you really believe the Wallabies were a chance to win this world cup? With Rennie or Jones, and less then 40% win ratio over 8 years? I think Jones knew that and has gone with a squad for the future, rightly or wrongly ridden the Wallabies chances off for this world cup and accepted he will...
The Tongan front row weighs 387KG, that's impressive. I'd expect you will see Ireland moving the ball quick in this game, I don't think Tonga will handle Irelands break down speed and will end up very one sided.
You don't think he would have been a good hooker? I think he would have been the perfect hooker if developed there early enough, his the same height as Dane Coles, John Smith, Rory Best etc.
Yes I agree you couldn't predict having two greats in the same position. But he never really had the...
I think he would have been the best hooker in Wallabies history if a coach had identified him to play 2. While his record as a individual player are impressive, the Wallabies should have had Pocock playing his best position for half of those caps, and not trying him at 6 or 8.
