If you're good enough to move up to grade as an u20 player, surely you're good enough to play 1st colts. So why would a player chose to play or be content to play 3rd or 4th grade rather than 1st grade Colts?
Does anyone know how and when these players were selected for these squads. My understanding is they were selected a few weeks ago prior to any trials (including the Waratahs 7s Discovery days) which seems to defeat the purpose of having trials and Discovery days
I would be advising any one passionate about the long term survival of junior club rugby to send their concerns or suggestions to Mick Doyle at the email MDoyle@nswrugby.com.au. There needs to be vibrant programs to keep players playing rugby through to colts age.
Just announced that there will be No more JGC for u17s. There will only be a program for u15s to be run in Sept/Oct over 5 weeks. Shame that there is no rep pathway for 16 & 17 year olds not at a private school.
