    Lions Tour 2025

By the time you get to the end of the series, between a few players getting released from the Wallabies squad for the tour matches and some changes from test to test almost everyone who is healthy will get to play the Lions. There will undoubtedly be a handful that miss out altogether and...

    Lions Tour 2025

The public are paying a premium to attend premium sporting events. I get where you're coming from but I don't really agree that the bulk of players should be released. Certainly more could be released for the Force game right at the start of the tour but the closer it gets to the tests the...

    Australian Rugby / RA

You could also schedule the round where test players are to miss out as mostly or all local derbies and then further reduce the impact on Super Rugby by matching up teams with the most test players. That way you minimize the competitive advantage/disadvantage given to particular teams.

    Australian Rugby / RA

It feels like NZRU need to have an honest conversation with their Super Rugby sides and players' association along the lines of "how the fuck do you guys think we pay your contracts?" I'd be pretty surprised if every NZ player doesn't expect their next contract to be bigger than their last...

    Wallabies 2025

I was referring to the fact that they have been very close to the Wallabies for a considerable period of time without ever really cracking it (Powell ended up playing four tests but was close for a long time).

    Lions Tour 2025

Foley debuted at the end of the 2013 Rugby Championship against Argentina. Skelton was the 2014 series against France. As Strewthcobber said, Mitchell was not only heading to Toulon but was also slowly coming back from the horrible leg injury he suffered in Super Rugby 2011. He returned to...

    Lions Tour 2025

It's been the same on every previous tour. Here's the Waratahs team from 2013. Rob Horne and Dave Dennis were the only Wallabies squad players released for the match. HSBC Waratahs team to play The British & Irish Lions Saturday June 15, 2013 Allianz Stadium, Sydney (AEST 7.30pm) 1. Jeremy...

Hurricanes vs Waratahs Super Rugby R7 2025 - Friday 28 March

It's been posted three times. In my defence I posted it the second time because I wanted to make a joke about Creighton/Saunders. Fatprop posted it the third time because he doesn't read other people's posts :D

Hurricanes vs Waratahs Super Rugby R7 2025 - Friday 28 March

He's improved every game. I think it's a case of rotation more than anything. JAS is finally available, Foketi is available again and they're looking for an opportunity for Saunders to debut. As harsh as it is though, he may struggle to get back into the 23 if Walton/Foketi/Sua'ali'i remain...

Hurricanes vs Waratahs Super Rugby R7 2025 - Friday 28 March

Calf. This will be the second game he's missed. He was a late scratching from the Brumbies game (was named to start on the Wednesday). Tahs are paying $3.50 and the line is 9.5.

Hurricanes vs Waratahs Super Rugby R7 2025 - Friday 28 March

In addition to Sua'ali'i’s inclusion, there are five other changes to the starting XV: Hooker Julian Heaven has been named for his first season start for Mahe Vailanu, who broke his arm in last week’s win against the ACT Brumbies. Heaven steps in after earning significant minutes off the bench...

Sorry, but you can't tell me that Archie Saunders isn't just Lawson Creighton after a couple more days not shaving.

Hurricanes vs Waratahs Super Rugby R7 2025 - Friday 28 March

I think the backline is: Teddy Wilson, Lawson Creighton, Darby Lancaster, Joey Walton (c), Joseph-Aukuso Sua'ali'i, Archie Saunders, Max Jorgensen So Kellaway being rested this week.

    Wallabies 2025

He was picked to start the last test we played and we won. I think saying the "Noah experiment is done" doesn't seem anchored in reality.

    Force v Drua Round 6

MESAKE DOGE ISSUED OFFICIAL WARNING The Super Rugby Pacific Foul Play Review Committee (FPRC) has issued Mesake Doge (Fijian Drua) a Warning after finding him guilty of dangerous play in a ruck in contravention of of Law 9.20a. Doge was cited for the incident, which occurred in the 80th minute...

    Wallabies 2025

It's tricky though. I think incumbency might matter a little less here. It's not like we have a test season to build into. If you are hesitant with the choice of picking the incumbent because they're the incumbent but you're concerned their form is down then the series might be over by the time...
