Things that I love about Rugby these days

quick throw ins. by far one of the greatest rule improvement in the last 25 years.

Things that get up my nose about rugby these days

stadium managers blasting shite pop songs in every little break thinking that it 'adds to the atmosphere'

    Super Rugby Membership Watch

i'd be careful, we give new zealanders filthy looks when they put their old jersey back on

Things that get up my nose about rugby these days

    - teams only being referred to as their wanky franchise names by commentators, newspapers and worst of all supporters. i hate it when i look at the details section in the paper and i see Lions and Waratahs. where is lions? who does a waratahs represent, is it in Australia at all? WORST OF ALL IS...

    Freakonomics: home-field advantage

You'd find that active home supporters are also likely a major factor as well for mls more than say baseball or yankball

    Rebels 2012

not so bad for him. Australian reserves league >>> Russian League. Surely he could be brought in if his form in preseason is better than some of the registered players? it is ages till the season starts. Did he get a game at northampton?

    Making rugby No 1

how hard would it be for a club to actually host a summer sevens tournament? minimum would need Referee's (they aren't exactly going to have hectic schedules at that time of year), someone trained in first aid, two pitches and an admin tent. it's not like they have to be on every week anyway...

    VIC State Rugby Centre

Who's your club en force er? i agree with this, a 'home' of local rugby like Ballymore would be great for vic but AAMI Park is too big. Bob Jane Stadium in south melbourne would be perfect with it's small capacity and more central location(save for a shite running track) if South Melbourne FC...

    Rebels 2012

reported in todays news ltd papers that demons are looking at relocating from aami park to a new centre in docklands. If true, rebels could well have an opportunity to snap up a permanent base at AAMI Park which i think would be better for nearly every reason. Heart can foad if it thinks it...

    VIC State Rugby Centre

Rebels admin facilities at Visy Park looks like a dump though. Would have preferred if this space was used for Rebels Admin. When are the VRU ever going to play at AAMI?

    Making rugby No 1

appreciate the sentiment and to be honest i'd agree with that but regardless of this even cutting pay to extended squad members would likely only serve to entice these players to consider overseas competitions of similar standard to their level but with better financial gains and thus decrease...

    Making rugby No 1

If don't pay them enough they will just move to europe regardless of natonal team exile. Players here are already underpaid when you look at the global market. Alternative revenue needs to be found now as costs really can't be decreased too much. Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk

    Making rugby No 1

what wcr said about sevens. sevens is the key to unlocking the none private realm in nsw/qld and the none rugby schools in AFL Land. Sevens is so under utilised when it could be Rugby's answer to auskick. If you offered high school (or primary) students the opportunity to play a one or two day...

    Digby stays put.

Great news for QLD as he is a game changer. Bit off track here, but after seeing the money on offer for him overseas (and knowing that he has a large family to support), i do find it a bit silly that the ARU are still so hellbent in excluding foreign based players from national selection...

Want to own a Super team?

i think, and this is a guess, that because most of the decent players are paid mostly by the nzru that they are able to move between teams fairly seamlessly with minimum transfer issues regarding new contracts.

    Kangaroos Vs Wallabies

If we absolutely must do this (and i'd much rather sink the idea) i'd prefer it be a mix team vs new zealand so it doesn't become all about the league vs union bullshit.
