I thought the ref was pretty good- the first Brothers try was from a blatant forward pass - apart from that howler he seemed fair. Norths definitely had Brothers measure and with three squandered try opportunities should go forward in the comp with confidence.

The Eagles have looked really good but yet to see them on a dry track. I imagine Shaw will still be heavy under foot. Would be great to see them get up.

Norths controlled that game nicely. A man down for 20 minutes as well. Looking forward to seeing them on a dry track as they are playing an entertaining style.

Setting them up is as good as scoring them. His presence out wide created space and opportunities for the centres and his winger as well as the 15 when he injected himself down that side. The Uni winger would have had nightmares last night. The Norths forward pack looked formidable too.

Obviously the Wests player created that situation with the late cheap shot on the Souths kicker. Game was over at that point was pretty pointless. Hopefully the QRU will deal with him accordingly.

Wests have only themselves to blame for losing the GF - the two missed conversions cost them dearly. A couple of howlers from the touch judge stood out - Jame O'Connor losing the ball into touch and Brothers getting the line out, and other occasion the Brothers player clearly in to touch but not...

It seemed that Brothers got the benefit of most of the 50/50 calls. He always seems to ref the Brothers/Norths games too.

Norths unlucky to not get the outright win today - missed conversion in front of sticks proved costly. Norths forward pack more than matched it with a strong Brothers pack and backs held their own too. Great local derby!

Lauries looked very complacent in defence today - Ashgrove really carved them up in the midfield. I would say hats off to the Ashgrove coaches - they've really improved as the season has gone on. On a couple of occasions Lauries strangely elected to take the penalty conversion rather than mount...

Pats defeated Padua more convincingly than Lauries did and Villa knocked off Pats so on paper it's anyone's game. If Villa shut down the Lauries 10 kicking game and out enthuse the men in black it is anyone's game ..

VILLA in a good position to pull off an upset this week. All the pressure on Lauries. PADUA will account for SEC by a healthy margin.

Not sure of exact scores but SLC defeated SPLC by 30 odd, MCA defeated PAD by 12? Also hearing Villa defeated Pats?

SLC thumped IONA 51-10 Lauries were too well drilled and the #10 controlled things nicely. Iona a big side but disorganised and little communication in defence. Few standouts from either side today - SLC 4 and 10 the pick for me.
