    Queensland Reds 2025

The expectation if you're a signed professional, let alone one with Wallaby caps, should be to dominate at the club rugby level. What in the world were the talent evaluation staff at the Reds and RA thinking?

    Australian Rugby / RA

you don't think a handful of marquee foreign players would draw more interest in the game here?

On the contrary, it was a thoughtful interview with heaps of constructive ideas. Worth a listen even if you don't care for him as a person.

Quade Cooper did a 2 hour interview with YKTR on youtube concerning the state of Australian rugby and what needs to be done to fix it. All of his points sound like things written here verbatim.

Could be simultaneously true that Norths colts develop more because they get greater Prem exposure but the actual quality of Prem grade suffers for having so many colts in it. Don't have a dog in the fight or an actual insight to offer, but they aren't mutually exclusive possibilities.

That feels like it has the potential to be needlessly controversial. Regardless of what happens with that GPS coach, they should swap the referees around.

The thing is, IPP recruits aren't taking up a normal roster spot. The NFL is giving teams permission to take them on with no downside. If you're an NFL team, you're losing out if you're not taking a flyer on someone like Petaia Sure you'd prefer a Jordan Mailata to a Petaia but there's not a...

The main uni field is also an incredibly sterile place to play. So it goes both ways.

We all agree bigotry, abuse, or going after the ref should be unacceptable. But it's a fine line to walk between being completely family friendly and maintaining atmosphere. If you turn it into Disneyland, then the 50+ colts and lower grades players who would ordinarily be sinking beers on the...

Not to be reductive, but what's wrong is a lack of money. Every other problem we face is downstream of that.

    Wallabies 2024

Walsh would be a monster in sevens. His lack of size wouldn't be nearly the issue it would be be in 15s.

Pretty sure that would kill any club's revenue stream considering how upset most get about people bringing their own beers.

    Wallabies 2024

Good to keep loose forward/backs talent playing sevens in Australia instead of disappearing off to league or OS never to be seen again. Even better if it's the government's shout thanks to the Olympic angle. Best if medaling gets the younger generation into sevens as a gateway drug to 15s...

    Wallabies 2024

I would be shocked if it hasn't been broached to him. Weirdly enough I think a year in France would benefit him as he's complacent in Super Rugby. They won't put up with his discipline and fitness issues, especially given he won't have the leverage of threatening to go OS that he has in Australia.

Not to sound like a pearl clutcher, but that's a worse look from a coach than a random supporter. Don't be a dickhead to the refs when they're just doing a job. Give fair criticism when it's deserved but don't put your hands on them.

Not very classy from that GPS supporter giving the touchie a little shove at the end of the game against Souths. No one thinks you're hard for doing that.

Forwards that are simultaneously tall, athletic, and heavy are probably the most enticing to NFL teams because that combination is rare and valued in offensive linemen. It still took 3+ years of development for the Eagles to turn Jordan Mailata into a viable starter. Players like Payne Haas or...

Yeah to this point and @PhilClinton 's comment, yes you will be very highly paid compared to a normal person. But it'll be more of a medium sized McMansion in a nice suburb with a sensible car money than jet set money, especially when you consider the limited career window most NFL players and...

Spent years living in the states and have been to those places for NFL games or visiting relatives. The average American doesn't want to be in Green Bay either. People in Australia tend to idealize America because they get an airbrushed version from media or on holiday. I'm not one of those...
