Yup, as much as i'd love him back i'd prefer we stuck with Powell and Lonergan, and lock in his older brother as well. Perfect timing to come through as backup. Worried about 10 for next year though, we're going really rookie in all options there. I'd love to see Wright get his fair share of...

    Australian Rugby / RA

Anyone who's been as successful as AJ whilst being as dodgy as him, TBH might actually be exactly what RA needs right now. A shifty slimeball with the political cunning of a weasel who genuinely seems to give a fuck about rugby might be just what's required. Not in anyway advocating for him...

I want that Chinese geneticist who vanished recently to make a Toutai Read and a Quade To'omua too, but we have to work with what we have and plan accordingly. Hooper's talents are faaar better suited to the first 50 mins, Pocock's to the final 30. Neither are great Captains though, and...

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

So if Pocock starts and Hooper runs head first into Itoje in the first ruck and knocks himself out with 30 mins to go, what's the difference?

Precisely because it isn't. Everyone has lots of energy early on = they arrive nice and early and full of ferocious energy at each ruck + they're faster so if you want your 7 to be a link player and run the ball a bit, he's gotta be fast and agile. That's Hooper. 20/15/10/5 mins to go...

Oh 100%. Lisfranc injury's are a real bitch though, and unless TK goes down I don't think we have a need to rush back a bloke who i'm hoping will anchor our backline down for the next 10 years. Let it heal, make sure he's 100%, let him recover through the NRC, and let him unleash next...

TBF I think that post was a reply to a previous comment about who should have the most players etc and not necessarily his genuine opinion.

Kerevi is our best 12, hands down. TK our best 13, hands down. They start, simple. Question is then, which 10 would suit that pairing the best? Cooper, hands down. Lilo second, George Smith 3rd, Foley 4th. Foley needs a second playmaker at 12, he's been too conditioned by Cheika to just...

Well...yeah, you can, for exactly those reasons. Kid's a freak, but you don't play injured/unfit players. Unless he's fit and firing, he unfortunately stays behind and stews about missing the WC, then turns up to pre-season breathing fire and determined not to miss out on the next WC.

    Reds 2020

He was fantastic. I remember the Reds v Blues in Auckland in 2009. Jones had brought him back in 2008, then Mooney unleashed him in 2009. Was it Simmons at 4, Horwill at 5, McMeniman at 6? I think Slipper was emerging then, along with Saia Fainga'a? Barnes-Cooper - Fainga'a-Fetoai midfield...

    Reds 2020

He debuted against NZ in 2005 with Rogers at 10 (in a game we were expected to get absolutely rinsed in because we had about 187 players out injured, yet turned out to be one of the classic Bledisloe's) and absolutely carved up. (Was that the same game Drew Mitchell got his first start and...

Is it really possibly Samu is going? With Folau going all Dark Ages on us, there is a lot of money left over. How in the flying fuck is a huge chunk of that not being thrown at Kerevi? He and Petaia are on the cusp of forming on of the most devastating centre combinations in rugby history...

Experience doesn't mean shit unless it's experience with winning. Winning is a habit, and an attitude. You can be the star in a shit team, but still might not believe you can win - that rubs off on the rest. QLD v NSW in Origin is the perfect example. QLD don't have better players - they...

    Reds 2020

I was discussing this recently with some mates - how different might the rugby landscape be right now if KB (Kurtley Beale) had just put his shirt on back in 2014? Or, having failed to do that because he's a drunk dickhead, if RA had said "you know what mate, despite your marketing value as the only (forgive...

    Brumbies 2020

If that is true, i'm going to St Leonards with some Semtex. If RA are providing a top up for him (yes), then surely they have enough leverage ("If you want to play for QLD and put the two best 13's in the same squad and hamstring both players/teams development then we ain't giving you a top...
