Sorry - I know your trying to by funny but I think that’s quite a daft response really in the context of the discussion. In the middle of push and shove there was a realistic chance that Mafi comes forward and leans straight into the head butt. Korioduadua may well have had no intent to damage...

Yeah - but he put far more force info if. If Mafi had move his head forward when it happen it would have ended very badly.

Very different amounts of force. They were more a rub than anything. Still dumb and rightly punished, but almost no chance of causing actual injury.

Yeah - I do. But I still disagree with the premise that you’re making. He deliberately head butted someone. Intent is clear. We may not know if he intended to knock him unconscious or if he intended to head butt him in the pec so as to not do any serious damage but any pro footballer who throws...

    Round 9 : Reds v Highlanders

Wednesday lunch and no thread up until now? Looks like confidence has been rocked. Both teams need a win and neither inspiring much confidence at the moment but that can change quickly enough. For me the Reds have had been making a lot of needless errors in all their games - even when they...

I’m sorry - with regards to the comments he wasn’t trying to head butt him in the face, that’s piss poor. He deliberately tried to head butt him. Trying to claim some moral leverage because he didn’t go for maximum damage is a croc in my view. That said, what’s done is done. I do agree that...

I’m against the general principal that it should be outcome rather than intent that drives the sentencing. I’ve no problem with McReight’s punishment as, while the immediate impact of the tackle may not seem much the whole driving force behind the focus on lowering the tackle is because of the...

    Wallabies 2024

I agree he’s been good. I think he is a likely candidate for lock for the Wallabies. But it just seems odd to me for a tight forward with his experience that he is still going in high. Maybe there is a perfectly good reason and the coaching staff are happy with it - but seems to me he still...

I’ve always thought Salakaia-Loto could be anything. But he still hasn’t fixed his height info contact. If he fixed that I reckon he’d be devastating.

    Wallabies 2024

Hooper must by one of the most discussed players on the forum. I don’t really want to start another back and forwards on him and I certainly don’t want to knock the guy. But I’d assume he is very unlikely to be a Wallaby this year. If he proves me wrong, good luck to him.

    Wallabies 2024

Well he was out of form last year and has been tailoring his training this year to 7s. I’m not going to say he’s not an option but I would think guys like Wright or Gamble would be more likely.

I think he’s been okay rather than great. I am more coming at it from the angle of not moving Petaia from wing. I’ve always thought Petaia had all the attributes to be a great 13 but the reality is he has never looked as good there, apart from the off bright spot, as he has as a winger.

    Wallabies 2024

I dunno. Our top level picks are probably Frost, Holloway, Salalakai-Loto, Neville. Rodda was as probably better than all of them but hard to say where he is at. Next level is Smith, Hooper, Swain, Canham, Williams then you have guys like Uru, Hanigan and Lee-Warner who are more 6s at test...

    Queensland Reds 2024

I’d be tempted to start Creighton or Annan at 12 and move Paisami out 1 or just start Annan at 13 and leave the back 3 as is. I’d also bring Nonggorr back into the starting team. IMO JTA hasn’t been as good starting as he was off the bench whereas I don’t think we are getting as much from...

Waratahs v Crusaders, Friday 12th April, in Sydney

I thought the commentators said that the shot clock had 8 seconds longer than the game clock. But what you’ve written makes a lot of sense and I’m sure Berry confirmed there were two seconds left. I thought he was confirming when the kick went over but maybe he was just confirming in terms of...

Waratahs v Crusaders, Friday 12th April, in Sydney

I think Heaven has been pretty decent most weeks. Not a world beater by any stretch - but for a guy who started as the fourth string he’s been pretty solid. From what I’ve seen his throwing has been pretty accurate which, in itself, is something which has been a real issue for our hookers.
