    Sydney Subbies 2024

Given their structure and cohesion on Saturday - Id find it hard to believe that Blueys team doesnt train together. They were a well structured, fast, physical side with weapons in the forwards and the backs. Not unbeatable, however with the skill level and experience of those players, they can...

Maybe the lads just wanted to sing the song again? It had been a long time in between drinks. Div 2 seems to have a few stronger teams than first anticipated. The step to Div 1 may not be as clear cut as this viewer had originally thought.

Can confirm - Blue Mountains still have their guns. They have also added another ex Shute Shield gun at 10. Very good side. Will be hard to beat again this year.

Its not a Friday until Eastcoast has the Div 1 results for everyone to read about before the games kick off. DIV 1 Lindfield vs Forest: Ill back Forest here. Div 1 is a different kettle of fish and I think Lindfield will find their Div 2 tactics wont be as effective in Kentwell. They could win...

    Sydney Subbies 2024

Did a quick review of Div 2 1st grade games to see how the old foes were faring. Overall - It seemed that teams were struggling a bit for fitness. The Easter break and wash out may not have done anyone any favours. Div 1 clubs might want to take note of that to ensure they arent off the pace...

Talking of Colts - Very strong win by HH 2nd XV colts on the weekend. Bodes well for a good season for both squads across 1st and 2nd Div.

    Sydney Subbies 2024

Finally some good points from you Footy. Huge game this weekend. I thought if Souths weren't fielding a 4's. Then maybe the Blueys boys would be back. Bit colder on Saturday, I think mid teens for 1's on the weekend. Should be a cracker. Cant see any weaknesses in all the Div 1 clubs this...

Are you allowed to move between Shute Shield and Div 2 1st Grade? I thought there needs to be clearance provided between years, let alone one week. Although - If that standard is present, then Briars might be back to the glory days.

    Sydney Subbies 2024

Is 1st Grade Div 2 still physically demanding week in and week out? Surely a few players would relish the opportunity to give the body a rest for a week at certain times throughout the season. This could be a blessing in disguise for the 'Big 4' to ensure they get the finals time in peak shape...

    Sydney Subbies 2024

Waking up this morning - I tried to look into the positives of this. 1. Did Subbies look at dropping Epping to a lower division and leaving a bye?. This way Clubs still get 50+ players getting a game every week with only 15 guys - What half way through the season - getting a rest to manage...

    Sydney Subbies 2024

Once again - Players up at clubs like Eastwood enjoy wearing the shorts and singlet to the gym, rather than actually playing more than 20 minutes on a weekend. Shute clubs need to be directed to make players available rather than leaving it in the hands of coaches who have their own agendas...

    Sydney Subbies 2024

I would love to leak some information - so if anyone wants to let me know anything so I can put it out there that would be great. I have been away for too long and out of the loop. Last year HH combined with Epping to fill that Colts spot - Given HH numbers - Wouldn't that make sense for it to...

    Sydney Subbies 2024

Great call HeavyD. Alot of players seemingly prefer to have the kit and say they play for the Rats or Stags rather than actual play the game. Cost of living doesnt seem as much of a problem for those guys who prefer to pay $500 rego for a Shute club than $200-300 for subbies. Or $150 as I saw...

I was using the Apple Weather app - Rain definitely has changed on the Saturday since I last looked. Still hoping to get up to 27 though! This does change things. Council are always a little cautious at this time of year

    Sydney Subbies 2024

Did someone mention my name! Its been a long off season. Looking forward to some cracking games this weekend. Surely the Councils see the forecast for 27 and Sunny on Saturday. The grounds will survive. Any updates from the Div 1 clubs on Player movement or new recruits?

    Sydney Subbies 2024

Predictions - St Pats to have qualified to return to Div 1 mid way through the season. Lindfield to surprise a few in the lower grades, which may do enough to keep them in the top division. Will jag a win or 2 in 1st grade, but can see a few players drop off once the wins dry up.

    Sydney Subbies 2024

I saw this as well. Their game against Eastwood started close, but with 60 points put up in 14 minutes, seems like they may have been slightly out of their depth. As most subbies clubs would be against Shute Shield calibre player.
