Knox v Barker is never a dead rubber, as seen in the celebrations afterwards. Knox must see this season as one that got away. A great team all year that had an off day against Waves. In a one round comp, that's all that it takes. I guess some consolation that half the team marches on with Gen...

To be fair I don't think RorD has ever mocked the performance of another school's under 13 cohort.

What used to be the Australian Schoolboys has been replaced by the "Australian Schools and Under 18s" which is announced at the end of the academy matches and plays the internationals. It is the top junior squad in the country and picks up U18s that are at Uni or aren't at school. This aligns...

It is a tough ask for CAS tonight but you never know your luck in the big city, or leafy suburb. The Knox pack has been great and dominated Joeys and Shore. They will be strengthened with Van Wyk and the Waves hooker. Also quality in the backs, although most are year 11 it looks like. Building...

You'd think that God would have been focusing on the AIDS crisis in 1981 and not the Joeys / Scots match, but priorities I guess.

They had a good tour of New Zealand I hear. Three wins out of three. Not sure of the quality of opposition though. They play Newington tomorrow so that will be a good litmus test.

That article is bizarre and bitter. Aloys offer scholarships (sorry "bursaries") for high achievers in academics, music, drama and art. Other CAS schools offer those, plus sport. One approach is "good, loving and just" the other is "false and seductive". Boys on scholarships at Aloys are looking...

Beyond impressive for an U15 player to be selected for a Joey's 1st XV team. Who was the last year 9 to have that honour?

They don't repeat year 10. The boys who were playing up an age group to play with their school year drop back down to U16s at year 11 unless they are going to play 1sts. So Knox U16s is usually a deeper age group as the younger year 11s fill out the year 10s.
