They were at Bond as most clubs in Brisbane have facilities that are sub standard. Norths great fields but their clubhouse is from the 60’s. The filth‘s fields were rubbish and they actually were going to play the finals there until the QRU pulled it out from under due to the state of the fields.
If he was once of the best he would have been picked…your comment makes no sense. A lot of boys from other schools were selected, not exclusively Wavell
I agree Phil, however Bond now have third grade and a couple of colts teams plus women’s. I think the Sunshine Coast would be a good option as would the darling downs region. I think the comp needs a 10th team so they all play more rugby. Bond is a shit of a trip but you only have to go once...
No I don’t. I did watch the U16’s national championship last year which had a lot of NC boys in it. Besides the prop they had the 8-13, Not hard to predict really. Oh and your dominant Mal Meninga player apparently didn’t make the Met North league team…..not that dominate after all?
Size isn’t important. If they have the skills and rugby brain that is more important than size.
Yes experience is important but if some boys have played high level rugby including rep stuff, and they are better than somebody who played every game last year then they should be given an...
Logan were in the comp a few years ago. Bunch of thugs who all they did was cause trouble and fight. They didn’t travel well and struggled to field two senior teams.
I won‘t name them however the Prem grade player has recently returned from another club. The colt is 1st year so very surprised by them paying him when they have the likes of Tim Ryan, Harry Grant who are second and third year respectively and don’t get paid….
They have more money in the bank then they let on and have some very influential backers with very deep pockets.
Their fields are no good because they haven’t had a decent grounds keeper for a number of years and they are used 7 days a week.
Just because someone played every game last year doesn’t mean they are “entitled” to play again this year. If there are boys coming through who are better in the positions he is going for then they should get the spot.
Apparently the Filth are paying one player who is not signed to a Super Rugby Club $500 per game. They are also allegedly paying a first year colt $250 for every game he plays in Colts 1
Oates isn’t a 10 better suited to 13.
Word is Maddox Maclean is a big if to make the firsts this year. At this stage the preferred centre pairing is Heaton and Laine-Setu. With Watson at 9 and O’Connell at 10. That is the reds U16’s from last year.
