Am looking forward to the season kicking off.
If you ignore all the noise I believe the 8/8/8 structure is only going to increase competition and ideally see the standard promotion/relegation battle that sets Subbies aside from Shute Shield.
Predictions - Div 1: Colleagues. Nearest challenger...
Sad news to hear about Cluch TV today going into administration. Obviously had the odd glitch but having matches streamed is a game changer and lets hope someone puts their hand up to cover the 2024 season
Interested to understand what a judiciary decision has to do with the integrity of Lindfield or any club.
For what it’s worth Lindfield copped a very heavy penalty for an error of judgement by a senior member of the club in 2016 and moved on and rebuilt.
Nothing to be gained from throwing...
Well done to the Breakers in 1st Grade. I thought the game was going to finish in the dark after scrum after scrum penalty.
Uni will be ruing the one that got away. Shapes up as a monster of a match for the Barraclough next week
Was a great afternoon and Newport too good.
Well done to the Subbies board for endorsing the Joy Johnson Cup and backing up their well stated desire to grow the women’s game. Hopefully the comp more than grows legs in 2024
Back to a traditional top 4 based on what I’ve heard. Not sure about Div 1. From only going off the subbies website it looks like Kentwell has been a good arm wrestle and a close race
Was out at Briars today and they run a fantastic show and very slick operation.
Even better where the classy displays from both Briars and Lindfield to show genuine care for injured players from both sides during the day and both clubs enjoying the Sydney sunshine and good rugby without the...
Div 2 prediction -
Lindfield v Briars - Briars should come out roaring but the class of Lindfield will show around the 40 min mark. Lindfield by 35+
Newport v UNSW - Newport are down on numbers but aim up and home ground advantage should aid their cause. UNSW will be too strong here though and...
Was at Soldiers Memorial watching yesterday. Credit to some brave 2nd Grade Newport players that tried to front to play a match in farcical circumstances. The disappointing part was their Colts whom all ran for the hills after being beaten by Lindfield instead of helping their club out.
May as well give it a crack seeing Div 2 not done
Div 2 Round 10 predictions:
Hawkesbury Valley v Lindfield. This should be a tough trip for Lindfield but they will be fired up to issue a statement after a flat performance against UNSW. Valley at home will be up for this but Lindfield should...
If it’s based on that comment then in my opinion you’re off the mark. I’m not sure if you have watched the 1st grade game but UNSW had an opportunity to win the game in the 79th minute with a shot from the sideline. It hit the post and Lindfield managed to kick into touch and celebrated a come...
Interesting take on Lindfield Eastcost. Any examples you can provide? I’ve watched a fair chunk of their games this year and have only seen the players celebrating some great rugby and wins. Certainly nothing ungracious
Managed to get down to Yattendon yesterday to watch Lindfield v Hills. The boys from Lindfield are certainly running hot. Appear well drilled with numbers to burn and picked Hills apart. Their clash against UNSW should be a real battle
Perhaps a proper get together of all clubs, the best minds in Subbies and key stakeholders prior to the season end would be a masterstroke.
Put it all on the table and ideally work towards a blueprint where clubs across the board can be sustainable, can grow and best practice is shared. No...
