After looking at results from the Ballymore Cup it appears that St Laurence's is on track for another strong year only loosing one game the GF to Ipswich Grammar. On the other hand Iona have a long way to go, after finishing last in Div 1. Eddies and St Pats played in the Div 2 comp both...

I heard Padua played Noosa u18s last night and won 30-nil in a shortened game. (25min halves)

The Fields drain really well out there its the area around the fields that will be a muddy mess.

Yeah Theo Knight (Second Row) and Archie Searle (loose forward/ hooker) both are big losses for the forward pack. They do have a bit of depth but those 2 were certain starters.

The Padua boys have been told that even with this rain their trial against Iona will still go ahead at this stage.

hopefully this rain leaves so these trail games can go ahead this weekend. Keen to see where teams are at.

From who I've spoken to Marist Defense on there own try line was huge. They had been in structured to not kick so didn't exit when they had the chance not sure if this is going to be a run it at all costs style of play for the year or if it is just what they are doing in trials. other comments...

yeah I'd swap out Jack Boland for Will Bagnall (MCA) he's a much bigger body at FB with speed to burn and a huge boot.

Good question but it might have at wait until after round 1 for a proper answer. I only really know the boys from St Pats, Marist and Padua at this stage.

I agree but right height just needs to add 20kg

yeah not compared to some of the big boys getting round but Padua isn't really known to have a heavy front row just strong.

yeah with Chappy (TH) and Heinrich (Hooker) the question is who will be the loose head???

Will be interesting to see who come out on top at 10 for Marist, between brothers boy Oliver Condon and the kid for SA Daniel Londema

With Big Leon Lane as the loose head at 6.3 100kg and a national level discus and shot putter they shouldn't have any issues getting Rossy sky high.
