Except the GPS 1sts team didnt have any representation even from riverview so it could be argued that it was 5 schools against 6 Plus Harry Jones, arguable the best player in the CAS side, used to be a grammar and kings boy

6 played last year and about 10 players coming back next year with 1st xv experience (but probably only 6 or 7 would be on the starting dream team for this season with the others getting opportunities due to injuries)

There are many players backing up from last years first xv who are quite capable in their own right to play 1st grade level and are now dominating their opposite numbers in 3rd grade. They are also benefiting from last years strong 16s age group now playing in the 1s

I think the two round competition is hurting shore big time as they dont have the depth of the other schools to match up in 1st grade with their injury toll. This was also the case last year with grammar when they had reasonable games against newington (rd.1: 52-0) and shore (rd.3: 36-7) but...
