Yep, great news played in this back in the day, was a bloody good competition.
Hard to pick a winner out of that lot and it will be good to see who most likely has the strongest domestic comp from it.

Tournament has moved on since then, minimum capacity semis and finals required, the nz "grass bank" look doesnt appeal to the world wide audiences they want to engage like the US.
Forget Tassie it doesnt have the right stadium.

McClennan now saying our bid might include NZ. He's obviously been told what for by them if we want a Trans Tasman comp with them. Looks like he knows how to take orders.
Pity it should be our showcase to get the game back to the people and every game should count.

Are they though? Sure broadcast troubles but I wish we had a coast to coast national club competition with the crowds they get. Provincial rugby term comes back with the 5 sure sides playing on top of that but not competing with Wallabies games the cherry.
