Well done to Justin Sikimeti from SPC who has been selected in the Australian Schoolboys team. All the AIC players dos a great job and we all wish them the best for the future rugby careers.
Pretty sure this years GPS teams are monumentally shitter compared to last year. Last year QLD teams were far more dominant than NSW teams, as shown by nearly winning the championships before even playing the GPS season. This year, players just aren't as good. AIC and CSS are not that decent...
As a former Iona student I am proud to see Lloyd Gorman and Tristan Stanghorn selected for QLD 1 at 1 and 13 respectively. I am also disappointed my former school couldn't hang onto them. Happens all to often. Schools really need to start putting in hard effort to hold onto their talent.
As a follower of Iona rugby, their tight 5 will be dismal in comparison to previous years and the rest of the AIC. Scrums and lineouts will be embarrassing to watch.
Iona prop's will likely be Angus Barker and Stephen Pritchard. Tim Albion possibly moves to hooker. All three are quite small for front rowers. Will be dominated by other schools. I will admit that Albion is a very talented loose forward and enormously strong for his size - can squat twice his...
Just a random thought but I think the AIC schools to start feeding their first XV players. I've noticed a decline in size over the years. 2012/2013 players were huge, 2014 players were smaller and 2015 even smaller. 2016 probably even smaller. I don't think I can watch anymore 75kg locks get...
Well Jooste has been signed with the Brumbies, he's got the size, speed, long range kicking ability, and a great pass. Honestly I didn't think he played that well during the Samoa match though. I'd rather him as a 10/wing/15 on the bench with Loga Tarogi on the right wing and Riley on the left...
I can see a Golden Boot heading towards Reece Hewat, as well as the McMillan award for best QLD schools rugby union player. He'll be a great Wallaby one day.
Jooste is 190cm and 94kg. I thought he looked rather lanky in his photo's but he really is pretty big for a flyhalf. When he fills out in the next few years he'll probably get even taller and 100kg+. I could totally see him as a fullback or even a big, tactical inside centre. Like a massive Matt...
I'll give an Iona team a shot.

Forwards will be quite weak. Expecting an equal in talent or less than team to the 2015...
It's the only solid combination we have. Cheika has been reinforcing it constantly since the Wallabies season began because he probably realises that. I will admit, Foley and Phipps played terrible during the Rugby Championships and were easily the worst players in a good side during the first...
I have no idea why Tom Pirrodi was left out, especially with the VIC lock making the Babas team. Also does anyone know if Theo Strang will be ready to play by September? I heard he was injured quite badly.
QLD II defeated NSW II 22-12 to claim third place. NSW I defeated QLD I 22-20 in an incredibly exciting final game. There were 21 Queensland schoolboys who were selected in the Australian schoolboys and Australian Barbarians sides, unfortunately none were from AIC.
I think now as all AIC...
This is my opinion. I've looked at these players and determined that the talent pool at national champs has been somewhat split between the two Australian teams. I've organised the players selected into the teams I think will perform best, obviously reserves may take starting positions and they...
