Ashgrove had some solid periods during the trial. Bombed a couple of tries in the first half and one right on full time. Throw Tom Howard in and a couple of the breaks would have been converted to points. Maybe a few playing in different positions. Overall a decent trial, not sure if Downloads...
The marist seconds are dominant and the 10as are very strong. Always going to be a crap year for Marist. Eddies almost rolled the year 10A MCA side at home last year. Not such a big surprise. A lot of year 11 boys will be in the team next year should be stronger. 2024 they will be one of the...
Dave Miles was outstanding at both schools. He is a huge loss for Marist. The majority of parents were surprised and disappointed at his forced departure. Huge loss.
Marist won 4 in a row. There was going to be a downturn, last year they came second. Who knows where they will finish this year...
Stop stirring the pot. Each school goes through ups and downs with results. The MCA year 11 and 12 cohort weren't expected to be very strong. The Laurie's side was outstanding. Strong forwards, well drilled and two outstanding centres. Four years ago it was doom and gloom for Laurie's rugby...
2019 1st XV MCA 17-0 SLC
2019 2nd XV MCA 22-14 SLC
Year 11 MCA will be fine. The 2,7,8,12,11 all returning plus replacement centre and second row. They will be up there.
Hopefully they have a team in the 10A competition. Last year they were replaced by ATC who struggled to be competitive. Good to hear they have added some players, might make for some closer games.
I'll have a crack at a possible Marist side.

It will be interesting to see what involvement Anthony Mathison has at Ashgrove next year. Word is he is returning as a teacher next year. Another pretty handy resource for the forward pack.
I'm sure Ben Geragthy, John Downes, Lachlan Tennison-Woods, Blake Rozka, Liam O'Kelly and Zach Hogan would be putting pressure on the year 12 lads for selection in the Marist side.
The rugby program at Laurie's has improved over the last couple of years. They will be up near the top for the next few years, judging by the 2016 results. The outside assistance at Ashgrove who coached Premier Colts at GPS is actually a teacher at the school and has been for a long time.
Ashgrove are training hard with a very strong squad for next year. A number of returning players in key positions from this year's first side. Adding to this is a stack of talent from the under 16 side that has been undefeated for two years. There will also be some quality players from this...
