As for the comment about players from other clubs feeling hard done by - it was hypothetically phrased for a reason - they COULD and they MIGHT - I don't know if they do. Again- just reflecting on Filth's post.
FFS you won't see any criticism from any post I've ever written about team or squad selections, nor any comment on relative merits of X compared to Y - I thought I'd made that clear. They took their chances and did well.
Filth's point (from what I understood) was that teams that made finals...
Retroactively justifying selections isn't really addressing Filth's point though. They did well and took their chances - you can't fault them - but based on form there might've been players from finals clubs last year who could feel hard done by.
Thanks for clarifying - Paty did the Norths boys front the same judiciary? I know you said provisional suspension, but I thought you might have heard some further info?
Wow - well, I've got nothing then.
I guess it's possible he managed to squeeze into the judiciary hearing on the Monday night after the game (assuming there was one) but you'd think the Norths boys would've been given the same opportunity and it doesn't sound like they were.
I think what...
I thought red card was an automatic week out' with an appearance at the judiciary on the Monday after the automatic week off. Does anyone have an updated red card procedure link?
Scratch that - page 9 of this presents possible scenarios...
I think with the coaching turnover rate at GPS any coaching survivors would be highly unlikely.
I think the perception of impropriety in club rugby is infinitely more common than the actual incidence of impropriety and my personal experience is that people are good and overwhelmingly honest. I...
I've edited to remove the questionable paragraph.
I think the Hegarty situation highlighted a loophole that has since been closed - interstate former Qld players are now registered to clubs, even if they'll never play for them.
But it's an interesting one, because until their club in...
I don't understand your confusion TT - it's covered in 33.2 (b) - ARU/QRU and ARU Sevens contracted players - as long as they're registered 6 weeks before the commencement of the finals they're eligible to play.
It's up to clubs to ensure that they are registered 6 weeks out if they think...
I'd suggest Mick Heenan, except I'm not sure he'd accept the stress and pay cut. His record is extraordinary.
If my sources (and parts of my memory) are to be trusted, his teams have only ever missed the finals once in his whole coaching career, spanning colts and grades - Uni in 2009 in his...
I'd like to give credit to the whole ref team for the Brothers v Uni round (all three games so far) - I thought they were all excellent.
I really enjoyed the spirit the game was played in - hard and aggressive but without that pointless personal niggle. And my opinion of Sam Greene went way up...
No, I didn't take it as having a crack. I've just seen an awful lot of team changes in the lower grades through the years that are potentially unsettling for the team, happen at very short - to absolutely no - notice. In the sudden-death environment of finals that are rarely won by blowout...
"Lack the mindset"? No. It's much more practical than that.
When the teams above you at the club also make the finals it's virtually impossible to play week to week with the same team - even one injury in any other team trickles down to have an impact. But of course, you're playing against...
