Agree but disagree. In the Firsts sure, but you can't rule out the rise of Padua as the new powerhouse.
Marist will still no doubt come away with the aggregate. So can't say as a whole they would rather forget this year..
Interesting game out at Marist this arvo. Ashgrove up 30 - 8 on Old Boys day.
4 red's and a yellow throughout the game (2 reds a piece). Game predominantly played within the forwards so was very physical.
MCA standouts: Wrattan was outstanding throughout (#6), #7, #2
For the backs everyone...
Tears may have been flowing but not enough heart shown on the field when it mattered.
Ashgrove forward pack simply dominated in almost al aspects - maybe all except line out. Their aggression wasn't matched and ultimately what won them the game in my opinion.
Fairly sure Fabris was an injured shoulder, however apparently it was a precaution to rest him against Villa so he's near 100% for Padua.
Not sure where there Rafter injury came from - seemed to be fine all through his run in the game on the weekend.
Ashgrove 72 - Villa 0.
Will go so far to say that Villanova side is the worst I've seen in a couple of years. Absolutely woeful.
Ashgrove players were solid without being spectacular with the exception of Tyson Cooper. Outstanding footwork and speed. MCA could've definitely done with some...
Another simply dominant display from Ashgrove today. Putting 50+ points on Eddies.
Work rate of Ashgrove forward pack (in particular the back row) is phenomenal.
Their structure in attack is perfect. Every player knows when to hold and pass
De Flavvis' decision making almost always perfect...
Boys V Men today at the Iona V Marist game.
Dominant display all round especially from the Marist backs. The Marist set piece worked well all game long and their support play was superb.
Standout performers: De Flavvis (10), Bucknell (15), Gavin (4) and the 7 for MCA (not sure of name).
Would have to agree. Wrattan played #6 all last year for MCA firsts but they trialled him at centres on the weekend against Lauries.. He's definitely not a centre so could be a weakness for MCA.. fairly sure he was just filling a hole left by Renouf though.. If he returns id be happy to say...
