    Australian Rugby / RA

I can't blame him. I imagine being a part of that RWC squad was frustrating and embarrassing for the players. And he saw that RA did a lot of their veteran players dirty. No loyalty to Mike Hooper, Quade, Samu, Ikitau. Mark's playing at a World XV level as a winger and they then offer someone...

RWC Final - New Zealand v South Africa 29/10/23, 0800 NZDT

And Jeb Sinclair (Canada) (red) and Finn Russell (red) and Kerevi again this RWC (yellow). You've had the same action result in everything from a red, to a yellow, to not even a penalty. And that's with a referee, two ARs and the TMO. It's incomprehensible. I understand it if the ref misses...

    Australian Rugby / RA

Give the Captain one challenge per game where he can send it to the TMO on a scoring play. If he's right he keeps the right to challenge again, if not then the game is adjudicated strictly based on what the ref calls. You used your challenge poorly and don't have one? That's on you, not the ref...

Again, prefacing that I'm Canadian. Most of my rugby friends who have played their entire lives also think the constant red cards, TMOs, box kicking, mauls for tries, 6 forwards subs, fake injuries, scrum resets etc. are obscenely boring. We used to get together to watch rugby, but nobody...

    Australian Rugby / RA

It seems like the biggest problem with Super Rugby is that it doesn't generate enough revenue. If you don't have enough revenue then you can't afford to give out contracts to players that end up going over to league or overseas. And it makes the sport as a whole less enticing and the standard of...

And for the record Argentina also shouldn't be losing 40-6 to Wales !!!

    Wallabies 2024

It's funny how decline and expectations take a long time to align. Where do people think the Wallabies should fall in terms of wins and losses against the top teams? I'm talking Ireland, NZ, SA, FR, ENG. Based on their player base. 60%? 50%? 38%? I'd argue 38% is about as good as they can hope...

    Wallabies 2024

Eddie's like Donald Trump to some people. His unrelenting confidence and belligerence, in spite of any supporting facts or evidence, will attract people that are looking for an all knowing messiah. Sad. Bigly.

    RWC Pool C - Australia v Wales - 5AM 25 Sep AEST

Of the Wallabies team I'd take Bell, Kerevi, Valteni is a wash with Faletau, Koriobete, Kells, Mark N (Nawaqanitawase) are a wash with Josh Adams, Zamit and Liam Williams. Not much in it as far as 6,4,5,7 where neither team are great. I take the Welsh #9 every day. He was great. Wales #2 and either #10 are...

Coaching matters and so do the players. Needs some actual brainpower to figure out which of the two is the problem.

    Wallabies 2024

I don't get the reasoning that the team wasn't going to win so who cares anyways. It's the RWC, the showcase event for the sport, the pinnacle of most player's careers. If I were a Wallaby player or fan in the stands I'd have much rather spent my 2023 RWC being competitive and going out in the...

    Wallabies 2024

I posted points for/against in another thread and it was something like 2022: 330-370 and 2023 it is like 105-228, not counting Georgia. And they won/were within a few points of winning against GREAT teams. Both teams/years had injury problems or players being unavailable as they were overseas...

    Wallabies 2023

For all of those "Dave Rennie also sucked" so what is the difference people out there. - In 2022 the Wallabies scored 327 Points and had 388 Points Against. - In 2023 the Wallabies have scored 108 Points and 241 Points Against. That's an absolutely massive difference. That's the difference...

    RWC Pool C - Australia v Wales - 5AM 25 Sep AEST

This is the worst coaching performance I think I've seen in any sport, ever. Eddie managed to take a competitive team and make them look like they've never played the sport. Great players like Kellaway, Koriobete, White were made to look horrible. He took all of the team's strengths and neutered...

    He should be fired immediately.

Why don't they ever use dumny runners or any kind of misdirection when running? Makes no sense.

    Wallabies 2023

I don't think I've ever seen a Wallabies game in recent memory and thought they had a notable lack of fitness and that was why they lost. And Skelton just got injured in training and presumably his training in Europe is fine. Hooper, Ikitau, Bell, Kellaway, Valteni, Koriobei, Slipper. They...

    Wallabies 2023

The exact same place IMO. I don't think Carter Gordon is any further ahead now than he was 2 months ago. Same for Tom Hooper.

    Wallabies 2023

Even guys that have looked great internationally in the past have looked fairly pedestrian: White, Valteni, Koro, Kerevi, Petaia (less track record). So I wouldn't necessarily take that to mean the younger guys with less track record aren't that good. The team isn't clicking. The only players...

    Wallabies 2023

I can understand the logic for a team like South Africa of kicking the ball away constantly. Even if open play is a dead stalemate, they are dominant at set piece so should win on the basis of winning penalties at scrums/mauls. And they probably do better on the pen count in open play too...
