You didn't see Sapsford's run down the left wing? I thought somebody had driven a van onto the pitch.Helps when the two cards are two of your more anonymous players.
Size would be Grealy's problem. He'd need to play lke the Springbok's Kolbi to get a look in.Grealy was fabulous BTW. Wallabies have good depth in the back three, but he can't be that far off.
Just not the same amount of claret.Jeez Reimer is an impressive footballer. Absolutely no fucking around or showboating. He's yet another 7 cursed to be born in Australia and have a number of guys ahead of him for the spot.
The David Croft of this decade.
I said it a while back but if we’re going with alignment either Scott or Reimer needed to move to the tahs. They do this job share arrangement when both are good enough to be the main guy. As such Reimer is even pigeonholed as “finisher”. It’s been good for the brumbs in that they can rotate between the 2 but the wallabies could do with more 7s getting consistent 70+ minutes super game time.Reimer is the best pure on ball 7 in the country.
It’s the rest of the game he is shaded by McReight who is very good on ball but excels around the field. Tizzano has been in his purple patch the last 18 months but Reimer can challenge him for the no.2 spot but a lot depends on who gets the time at the Brums.
Scott hasn’t lived up to what he seemed to be heading towards a couple seasons ago. Not really sure what the reason is but not everyone will.
Dobbins is a handy footballer. He seems to gas out in games which has been an issue but he throws his frame into work.
Tbh though Gamble is as good if not better than Scott.
If Gamble can replicate some form from his 2 games v Lions then he’s more effective than Scott whilst the Tahs probably want to bring through Durbidge and LeMaitre who was best player in the 19s comp.
Take one of them and likely lose a young in which is something NSW need to move away from.
agree with your thoughts. Hard to take much out of the game given the seeming gulf between the two squads other than some of the guys who you would expect /hope would show they were a level above their opposite number did that. Was really nice to see Faessler take the reigns as captain and lead from the front. No doubt in my mind he'll be back in the wallabies 23 before long. His selection as captain suggests they are still pretty high on him. Also hard to miss Grealy... looked world class admittedly against rather weak oppositionI thought the players with best contributions in Aus A were Faessler (good to see him back - and great speech as captain afterwards), Kailea, Swain (best game I've seen from him), and Grealy (MOTM). Dobbins also had a good session off the bench and looks to have the makings of a top notch hooker.
The problem there is that Scott is significantly more consistent than Gamble, while also being 4 years younger. It remains to be seen where their respective ceilings are, but injury crisis aside I think Gamble's wallabies ship has more or less sailed at this point.Tbh though Gamble is as good if not better than Scott.
