As previously noted the CAS Premiership will this year move to a 10 Round `Home & Away' schedule- the first round commences next Saturday.
All CAS Schools participated in trials today- no details yet, excepting:

* Knox 43 Oakhill 0

Other CAS Scores as noted in today's SMH:

Trinity 26 St.Pats Strathfield 19
Stannies 20 Barker 0
St.Pius 27 Aloys 15
Cranbrook 24 St.Andrews 13

No score given for St.Augustines vs Waverley however I note that on Sportal it is indicated Augustines thrashed Waverley to the tune of 37-12?. Bit of a turn-up considering Waverley had beaten Riverview a week ago.

Wow and wow - and we sometimes denigrate IAS, don't we?

Only result known to date is:

Knox 17 Waverley 12.

Frankly Knox did not play well- flyhalf Moss overplayed his hand and did not let the backline flow.
Waverley scored first from an intercept and led 7-5 at half-time.
Knox scored an excellent try from a rolling mall 10 minutes into second half and sealed win with a beautiful backline move- fullback Cannon going over in corner.
Not a pretty win but to win at Queens Park first-up is a good effort.
Waverley don't appear to have a lot of depth. They lost every Open game and were beaten in the 16As 45-0.

Knox 39 defeated Trinity 24 @ Knox 1.

Knox led 22-0 before defensive lapses let Trinity in for 2 soft tries prior to half-time. It should be noted that Knox had 5 changes from the team that beat Waverley the week before. A couple coming back from injury and it appears the Coaching panel still experimenting. With the lead @ 39-12 mid-way thru 2nd half, another 4 players were subbed and again Trinity took advantage to run in a couple of other tries.

I understand Waverley 32 defeated Aloys 27 in a close tussle.

Well not sure how many games played today due to several days of rain in Sydney.
Never a doubt that the Knox-Barker game would go on- Knox 1 must be just about the best wet-weather ground in Sydney. They played continually from 9.00 AM on it and the ground looked a picture for 1st XV kick-off @ 3.15.

Knox 36- Barker 7. Knox way too classy for Barker- the latter had difficulty executing the simple things in the backs. As per the previous week, Coach Ardron (Knox)subbed about 5-6 players mid-way thru 2nd half.

Unfortunately I am going to be away for next 6+ weeks & won't be able to provide CAS updates. :)

Appreciate the update lads.

The last time I saw a CAS game - Cameron Sheppard was at 15 and I said,
"F#2k I hate that kid, I hope he goes no where.."

This is why I don't gamble.

Apart from 7. Goodman, who are the gun CAS players to watch in the upcoming rep games?

Also,.. those teams look a little like they're picked to make sure everyone gets an even representation. Knox and Waverly have big pts differences but only one back in firsts? I dunno,.. it just looks a little to nicely spread, no?

12. E. Moss (Knox)
13. T. Kingston (Aloysius)
14. H. Nemeth (Barker)
15. C. Wakim (Waverley)

Talakai is a great ball runner and has the hands of a Flyhalf, big Islander who has played CAS Representative Opens Rugby for 3 years now.

You already know Goodman by the looks of things.

The 9, Stirzaker is a real livewire. Great acceleration from the ruck and is a real leader.

The two centres Moss and Kingston are also great talents, especially Kingston. Give him the ball and he can work wonders. Possibility for Oz Schoolboys.

Wakim single-handedly tore up CHS a few weeks back. Great running game.

Also,.. those teams look a little like they're picked to make sure everyone gets an even representation. Knox and Waverly have big pts differences but only one back in firsts? I dunno,.. it just looks a little to nicely spread, no?

Although the table doesn't look it and neither does a few scorelines, the competition is extremely even. Barker or Cranbrook (5th and 6th placed) on a good day can knock off Waverley and Knox. Its a good thing in my opinion.
