COVID-19 Stuff Here

There was one lady on Saturday who in great detail explained to the channel 10 reporter that she has evidence of Andrews engaging in satanic Freemason rituals in the tunnels under parliament… she had apparently attended said rituals.

Part of me wants it to be true…

Was told last night that the army was invading indigenous communities and vaccinating the residents by force and the 'news' were keeping it quiet.
Partially true.
The ABC is the only MSM outlet that I can see which is reporting the forced removal of aboriginals from Katherine to COVID testing clinics. The ADF has supplied between 20 and 40 members to transport people in Katherine East to testing clinics and return them home.

"NT Police Commissioner Jamie Chalker said on Monday that despite some recent improvements, testing numbers and vaccination rates had to be higher, particularly for Aboriginal people in the Katherine area. He said about 40 ADF personnel were already on the ground in Katherine and surrounding areas helping with compliance and education."

Imagine the outcry just 2 years ago if the Army had been called into move indigenous people away from their homes and tribal communities against their will.
Today - meh.

But it goes further.
Aboriginals with positive covid tests are being forcibly removed by the Army to the Howard Springs quarantine camp located in Darwin. That comes on top of hard lockdowns which were were instituted in the communities of both Binjari and nearby Rockhole on Saturday night i.e. total home imprisonment.

That concept of the Army "helping with compliance...." must send a chill through thinking Australians.

Thinking Australians do not allow themselves to be manipulated by the internet and their algorithm driven social media feeds
Hate to tell you this FF (Folau Fainga'a) but indigenous Australians in remote communities have been cajoled towards health clinics for years. It’s a complex issue.
Many of these remote communities have 3rd world health. Diseases that we just don’t see in the cities anymore. They don’t like institutions, hospitals, being indoors. You can provide the health services but many just don’t turn up. Outreach health clinics are regularly scheduled with specialist teams flying in to remote communities to try and improve health care but without a collection service it would be an idle waste of resources. For many, time and appointments are not part of their mindset.
Prior to the clinics there are advance parties that “move people away from their homes against their will” as you put it.
In reality it is tribal elders - often the matriarchs, community leaders, indigenous liaison officers. and administrative officers. And in a large scale effort like this one, the military. They drive around for hours collecting people on the clinic lists, people with serious medical conditions who are either ambivalent, distrustful, or too sick to attend. They are not dragged by force.
They receive education, medicine, healthcare and are then returned.
A Covid outbreak in these largely unvaccinated communities with extremely high rates of diabetes and heart disease would be a disaster
And as for hard lockdowns and quarantining positive cases - that’s no different to what has been happening in the rest of Australia for months. Except in the cities it’s been the police rather than the military for geographic reasons.
So as a thinking Australian I fail to see the outrage here

And the ICU's were full of vaccinated people
The facts from NSW Health:
There are 192 people with Covid-19 currently in hospital in NSW; 32 are in intensive care, 15 of whom require ventilation.

Of those in intensive care, 25 are not vaccinated, three have received their first dose, and four are fully vaccinated.

NSW also recorded two new Covid-related deaths.

An unvaccinated woman in her 40s with underlying health conditions died at Royal Prince Alfred hospital. And a vaccinated man with underlying health conditions in his 80s died at Liverpool hospital.

Thanks for the "backstory", tragic. Yes, a complex issue indeed.
I hope you see this point. That one day we are slamming the Australians who took aboriginal children into care because of their dire circumstances, and the next we are praising Australians who are dong the same thing but this time it's OK because of Covid.
Both circumstances use the "it's for their own good" argument yet few see that.

Using the Army to achieve those ends worries me a lot.

Another news item to support the theory that vaccines are not effective:
  • A live music performance was held for fully vaccinated patrons at a golf course in Hamilton, western Victoria.
  • Organisers say the vaccine status of all patrons was checked upon entry
  • Three people have since been hospitalised, and 18 cases of COVID-19 are attributed to the event
From ABC News.
Given the strong possibility that vaccines do not deliver the benefits claimed by those pushing mandatory jabs, the best option is to make the jab optional.

I have one anti vax mate who has really dug himself in, lost friends over this and feels really isolated. Can’t visit parents interstate, go out etc etc feels super alone. But refuses to get vaccinated as then it’ll prove he was wrong. Instead says he’ll get the Novavax which seems like it’s a way out for anti-vaxxers that allows them to save face (somehow)…

Why do I keep getting sucked in on this?

From the ABC article on this:
On Tuesday evening an ADF spokesman said ADF personnel were serving "in a supporting role to NT Police" and were not "empowered or authorised" to conduct any law enforcement activities.

Equating temporarily evacuating covid positive people from overcrowded housing in one of Australia's poorest communities with the stolen generations is ridiculous.

Ah yes, the Novavax… it’s what the only unvaccinated colleague of mine who isn’t allowed back at work is waiting for.

It will apparently do wonders for access to vaccines in poorer countries because its easier to distribute.

Honestly don't understand why this vaccine has any less government mind control chips than any other, though.

concerned about hard right wing groups using it all as a recruitment tool. I'm not fussed about Sky News boomers, but there are some very awful types floating about these rallies.

The worst of them are already waist-deep in it, don't worry. There won't be a lot of growth here in numbers, just potential actions.

NZ have put up their plan for re-opening their international border:

  • Fully vaccinated Kiwis and other eligible travellers can travel to NZ from Australia without staying in MIQ from 11.59pm Sunday, 16 January 2022 (but still 7 days home quarantine)
  • Fully vaccinated Kiwis and other eligible travellers can travel to NZ from all other countries from 11.59pm Sunday, 13 February 2022 (7 d at home)
  • All fully vaccinated individuals will be able to travel to NZ from 30 April 2022 onwards, with the re-opening staged over time
It seems ridiculously conservative. If AU manages summer without a massive outbreak, it's going to seem like a long time until April 2022. Oh, and no Super Rugby Pacific in NZ.

Fucking hell. That is a LONG time frame. Glad I didn't get all optimistic and book a summer long weekend in the South Island.

Derpus

Yeah it's weird. Aren't their vax rates pretty decent? It's hard to identify what they are afraid of. That huge explosion in cases that everyone was predicting for NSW never eventuated.

I think it's in line with the NZ Gov's path through this so far. They have done an amazing job of keeping people safe so far. I think getting what happens next is the trickiest part. Opening up without overwhelming the medical system is a tricky prospect. Balancing that with getting back to some sense of normal before winter and the possible surge that comes with it is going to be... Complicated, to say the least.
Going into our third year living with this, and it seems we are just holding our own, and it could still go either way. That's why hearing someone tell me they'd rather their natural immunity take care of their health is so frustrating. It ignores the basic function of immunity.
