The Currie Cup final in a week time. This one is going to be a big one and surely there will be blood flowing. This two teams the standouts this year in SA and lots of Springbokke in action. The Sharks havent win silverware since 1996 but surely the favourates this time on paper. The Brutes always streetwise in the big ones and it wont be different this time around. Just look at the mouth watering clashes starting with the captains, Smit vs Matfield, Habana vs JP, Meisiekind vs AD, Morne Steyn vs Michalak, Fourie du Preez vs Ruaan Pienaar, Kankowski vs Spies, Deysel vs Danie Rossouw, Botes vs Wikus. All of them fighting for green and gold places in the process. This game was a sold out within hours and the action will start just after 11h00 with the Sharks & WP U19 final, followed bu the U21s Cheetahs vs Brutes final and lastly the big one.

From a neutral perspective holding tumbs for no injuries to our top Springbokke but like usual the last thing on the players mind when it come to these finals.

2008 CC Champs

Guppies. 14 -9

Havent watch the match, had a power cut right from kickoff and had to listen to Niekie on radio. Was pretty close in the end but all the drama a close final brings.

U21s
Brutes won vs Cheetahs 20-18.
Watch this one and the Brutes very lucky to win this one with a converted try right at the death and used up their luck they had in the S14 final a year ago. The Brutes have some real talent in their U21 team and was pack with SA U20 players. The Cheetahs really try their best in this one and some impressive display from Llewellyn Adonis (know him well as a x Boishaaier & Swartlander) from 15 and Colyn their scrummie capt that hails from Outeniqua.

U19s
Guppies beat WeePee 30-18
The Guppies have a Cronje Twin playing 9 & 10, looking like blond surfers but full of rugby. They played a awesome game of rugby and WeePee way to many mistakes. Ruaan Smith played from the bench and WeePee scrum was much better when he entered. Hope he take this experiense with him and surely may play U21 next year.

Also congrats to the Leopards (Western Transvaal) or Mielie Boere playing top league CC with Boland, who survive their relegation matches. Think its a great outcome for SA rugby and probably the Lions S14 franchise. The Leopards have the current SA club champs, Pukke and a great structure with their junior teams with one of SA's first rugby academies when the game turned professional. Oh and they also have Pieter van Zyl at Potch as a supporter to keep the refs in check.

I'll have to find a download of the game Oom - if the matchups are anything to go by it should have been good.
