Hey Jets,

How are these unsung heroes lists constructed?
A few of these players were on the players to watch this season and they're apparently 'unsung heroes'

Getting the distinct vibe that most think Ashgrove have got this won?

They've never beaten Padua in this age group in the last 8 years (no one has) - and they will have to do it away, on a huge 'Back to Banyo Day.'

It will be massive if they do.

It’s a shame the game is at padua. Not the best place to view rugby. But i’m expecting marist to have more boys there because of bus for the boarders. Think Ashgrove will get up.

if there is a vibe, I think it’s that tomorrow’s result is a 50/50 proposition, with Padua probably slight favourites due to home ground advantage.

As I understand it, these MCA and Padua teams have only played once since Year 8, with the Year 9 game a washout and Padua winning 24-12 in Year 10, so history’s no great guide.

Marist have already beaten SLC and Villa away on Old Boys day, and a win tomorrow would complete a great trifecta.

Two very good teams, hopefully the game lives up to the occasion.

The 8As game was the famous Damon Humphrys sideline conversion after fulltime to win 14-12. 10As score was 24-21.

GRAND FINAL + ROUND 7
Marist College Ashgrove v Padua college at Banyo is a thriller for the ages, can Marist win their first premiership since 2020 or can Padua go back to back, This game can go either way, Padua relying on a kick dominant game while Marist is more a quick style game of play, expect thousands to be there tomorrow alot of schoolboys family, friends and general public. I have Marist 7+.

New number 8 for Padua on the social media page - haven't seen him all year- back from injury or parachuted in for the grand final? Predicting a close game initially but the brown dogs to win by 20 plus.

Unreal effort from the Padua lads yesterday to hold on... down to 12 men for a few mins there towards the end with a Yellow, a red and a concussion coming off the field and their scramble defence was able to keep Ashgrove out. Holding that Ash team to only 19 points with multiple cards is very impressive.

What a game that was. Padua thoroughly deserving winners. Ashgrove through everything at them. Rugby at its best. What a pity the professional game can’t tap into what was on show at Banyo yesterday.
