Looks like the Pulveriser has found a bob or two to makeover the ARU Website - rugby.com.au.

Is this lipstick on a pig, or a "must read" go-to website?

IMHO, in trying to be all things to all people they have missed an opportunity to improve the core things that should be on a National Rugby bodies web site. Hopefully this is the start of further refinements to rugby.com.au because ATM, while an improvement on what was previously published, the makeover is mostly lipstick on a pig.

Hopefully they don't just try to become the voice of Rugby at the expense of being the source of Rugby.

To be the voice of Rugby, the website must be publish frank and fearless articles that will rock the boat and be critical, sometimes harsly, of the Rugby Establishment, that is the various state and national bodies, their administrators, managers, executives, employees, boards, affiliates and other associated entities such as sponsors, match officials, and contracted players.

Does anyone think that Rugby.com.au will have any articles about how poor Asics rugby boots in comparison to say le Coq Sportif boots? Companies/products cited for illustrative purposes only. I actually reckon Asics boots are actually pretty well made.

Green and Gold Rugby, it will never be. Long live our independence.

I like it. NRL.com seems to balance being a news source as well as the trumpet for the game's governing body fairly well. Weekly articles, segments, highlights, stats, standings etc. Should be a blueprint for rugby.com.au. At the moment you have to do a bit of digging for Super Rugby news and reviews.
