The match really was a helter skelter affair, with a lot of movement and plenty of handling errors from both teams.

Got thumped on the score board but . . . we let in a soft try just before oranges that made it 12 - 0 and one after - often the deciding 10 minutes of the game, good tough first 30 minutes. More time with J Train, and lifting the physicality in D. Uni's.

Ref was no doubt trying to get on the good side of the phillies gathering around the bails of hay on the side line – well he didn’t get uni the result, and he also only showed them one arm as well.
Again the forwards had a huge role in the win, I think we let in 2 very soft tries through our backs (through being the applicable word).
Our forwards were mobile and committed with Lewis & Elliott having a powerhouse game up front.

After re watching it on the box - season is not won in round 4, we have to build and look for improvement.
Not very often you can empty the bench against Uni with 10 to go, whilst I think those bench players could play 80 in one’s coming in off the bench they don’t get to work into the pace of the game and 2 tries were leaked.
We were camped in our own half / quarter for the first 20 odd minutes and our 2 touches resulted in 12 points, superb solo effort be twinkle toes Lane great to see that confidence building, and some soft hands putting Yarrington over in the corner for the second try.
Play of the day in the first half, instead of opting for a centre field scrum from where the penalty was awarded we take a tactical shot at goal – pick out a Uni player who is eyeing off the candy on the side line and kick it to him and advance our centre field scrum by 30 odd meters, unfortunately it didn’t convert into points though.
Second half we had allot more possession and played with more width, Gilmore powered over the add line on plenty of occasions and Ale & DA enabled Lucas to distribute the quick ball that gave Dennis space to run – enjoyable to watch.
Our 7, 8, 9, 10 really allowed us to open up in the second half.

A pleasure to see Parramatta at Latham and Coogee on Saturday.
Their field discipline in the games that I watched was first class.
Each time a decision went against them they got on with the job instead of grumbling to the middleman.
I particularly liked the 4ths number 15 who has very good footwork. Expect to see him higher by the end of the year.
The second grade side made a battle of it but ran out of puff. The 9 and 10 were a handful as was the 12 in first grade when he got a run up.

With the NRC gobbling up all the professional players at the end of Super Rugby, the traditional professional Rock Stars being parachuted into clubs for the last couple of rounds and the finals series (primarily Wicks, Uni and Manly) along with all their player points didn't happen last year, and won't happen for the foreseeable future.
I hope someone inside SRU is monitoring them, because the public record of player points on the ARU mandated competition management system (Rugby Link) does not seem capable of doing it.

It looked like the Students were ... ... ... umm ... ... ... like students playing against men. Full of youthful vigour, skills and passion, they didn't seem to have the old school cunning amd rugby smarts to be able to win a game of footy that comes from the experience of playing Shute Shield week in week out for years.
They certainly had enough opportunities to score enough points to win the game, but the rub of the green and the luck of the bounce didn't come their way, and combined with the lack of native cunning and rugby smarts meant that they left a lot of points on the park from their visits to the MMM red zone.
I was impressed with how Sandell and Robertson scrummaged, especially considering they are in their 2nd and 3rd year out of High School respectively. Jim Stewart was a star for The Corporation.

The Corporation are giving up a bit of a headstart with their First Grade losing two games, although they may claw some points back when the postponed games against Gordon in grade are played (160 points if all 4 grades win with a 4t BP).
There are a maximum of 215 points available to a club each week, based on all 7 club teams winning with a 4 try BP and the target to win is >3000 points which was achieved by 3 clubs last year. In 2014 the difference between 1st and 2nd was only 33 points, with 3rd only 52 points further back.

well Uni will be banking on 215 with there game against gordon
^^ The Uni vs Gordon Colts games have been played. They won't get the full points (215) for that round when it is played because they lost Colts 3. With the multiplier that means that they can max at 205 for the round, although they have already banked 45 points for the round from Colts.
There is only 160 points available and if they get all of those, it may take them to 662 points and put them in an equivalent of 3rd place. They need to be very careful not to lose too many more 1st and 2nd Grade games if they have any genuine aspirations of the 2015 Club Championship title.
