Good of you to create this thread Lily.
I can acknowledge sportsmen & women who were good at their sport even if they werent the best when it came to sportsmanship or some of the things they did away from their sport. But for mine the very best were good at their sport and good people away from it. For this I actually rate Smokin Joe ahead of Ali, many would aggressively disagree with me but I always found Joe punched above his height (only 5'10' I believe, short compared to some boxers in his division) & was a gentleman who was more shy & from a modest family background.
Anyhow, I'll stop with the Ali comparisons, I'm sure Joe got really sick of that throughout his life. May you RIP Joe.
