A couple of the NZ tries were fortunate to be awarded - question over grounding, also an offside. Not that the game's result will be affected. Too strong, too good at the back end of the half.

Japan were just outmatched physically in general play once again. Several of the NZ backs were bigger than their forwards. Even if they managed to keep their composure they were always in for it.

Japan could've kept the margin under 50, though. Their flyhalf gifted several tries through attempting ridiculous kick-passes in his own 22, f'rinstance. Having said that, I still think Japan have improved at this level c.f. their last appearance at the Goldie 5 years ago. Not enough to compete with NZ tho, obvs.

If the two non tries were actually caught and the Japanese 10 didn't brain fart with regularity it could have been a much closer affair. I saw at least three NZ tries come from those silly kick pass options. Japan looked good in the 1st 20 minutes. But once the lost it was always going to get ugly.

We have been pretty awful so far. A couple of butchered tries and now we're under the pump.

Didn't see one performance in this game that would replace a player from the first game v Japan. Different opposition and weather conditions, but so unimpressive overall.

The Junior Wallabies will take on New Zealand at Bond University on Saturday, May 4, from 7pm

Fiji and Japan kick off at 5pm AEST.
