Rogues Lane 2017 Shiraz got 94 points from Halliday. Very pleased with that.
This is the review;

The yield from the estate vineyard planted in '95 was under 4t/ha (around 1.5t/acre). Hence the near-impenetrable colour, and the full-bodied palate following on the path set by the colour and bouquet. It is not over-extracted, nor clumsy, the high quality tannins in balance with blackberry and soused plum flavours.

2018 is bottled but not released. In my opinion it will be better than the 2017.

Got a nice birthday present recently: four consecutive vintages of Wynn's Black Label Coonawarra Cabernet (2014-2018), to go with the several bottles of 2013 I already have. Looking forward to drinking them after some time in the cellar.

Great little podcast for wine tragics.

Two wine dealers from Sydney catch wind of a treasure trove of great wines in Georgia. Apparently following the assassination of Tsar Nicholas II, the Russian royal cellar fell under the control of first Lenin then Stalin.

In WW2 with the risk of the Nazis marching on St Petersburg, the cellar was divided into three and one part was sent to a winery outside of Tsbilisi.

These guys found ~40,000 bottles of ancient wines from the greatest wineries and cellars in history.

Cracking tale.
