Tate misses a shot here and may find it tough to break in going forward. I think Gordon is fab, look forward to seeing what he can do, it's just that takes opportunities may be slipping.

with three tests in a little over a week, I'd suggest Tate will "break in" pretty soon.

Solid team if that is who Rennie has picked. Bench will be a little more interesting.

Hodge really is a coaches dream huh. Are 9 and 15 the only positions he hasn't started at test level?

Just for context... Jake Gordon only has 3 caps.

Yes, he's only started one I think. For the record, I wasn't advocating for or against Gordon starting, only pointing out that McDermott is new on the scene and is still getting an opportunity from the bench.

Dam Rennie must SERIOUSLY HATE McDermott! He's been pretty clearly 1&2 with Nic White all Super Rugby. Had a killer season last year, clearly worked on his kicking game a lot this year, and STILL gets left out in the cold. I'm predicting (as normal) he'll get basically no time off the bench.

Not saying Gordon hadn't been good, but he's had nowhere near the body of work. And I think it's potentially pretty damaging to have so little faith in a guy like Tate, he's been playing the house down especially in those last two games of SRTT for the Reds where he needed to step up.

Gordon missed a substantial chunk of the season with injury but has been pretty excellent otherwise.

I don't think you can reasonably say his form doesn't make him deserving of selection. If Rennie had him as second choice last year behind White I don't think there's any reason why his view would have changed based on this season.

Except the Reds couldn't exit their 22 when they came up against a decent side at least in part because Tate doesn't have much of a box kick.

What's the seating capacity going to be at Suncorp? Are we going to be hearing a crowd or will it be quiet enough to hear the players?

Apparently no restrictions but that doesn’t mean they’ll get many.

Will be lucky to get 15k i think, its a Wednesday night, ticket sales only just went on sale yesterday and people are still been warned about active cases in the community.

Still 15k is better then the 0 they would have received if they kept it at the SCG

Better than the Lions, better than anything Europe has seen. Probably better than NZ v Tonga.

Good point. Last time the French toured I spent big on platinum tickets to Docklands Stadium expecting if nothing else, a great view of an exciting game. 13k turned up to to see a 6-0 Wallabies victory and I would have done better to piss my tickets away at the casino

Hodge and Gordon have a bit in common. Neither is ever going to be a superstar. Neither will ever leave the field without having emptied his tank.

Bit unfair on Gordon to be honest - I don't know if there was any player more influential to their team across the whole Super Rugby competition - I don't think Hodge has ever been the difference in a team being competitive or not.
