I read a Matt Burke article saying they are placing the ball on the tee wrong... I guess he knows its not a form thing having also been in a major one resulting in a premature end to his super rugby career.

Yeah, Crusaders looked pretty village. Obviously, they had a few things going on in the lead up but you can't really take anything away from the Tahs who completely suffocated them.

We still look lost in attack but the tactical plan was the right one and executed to near perfection.

I often look at how they place the ball and line it up and pretty much straight away know if it's going to miss. It's something I just cannot get my head around. For Foley he had a right to left fade. But not a huge one. He should be lining up aiming for the right most post when kicking. But he either lines it up centrally or far too far out. And I just don't understand how he isn't seeing the issue. For me kicking for goal has always been a simple process. May be it's because I also grew up playing Soccer so technique and understanding the movement of the ball in the air was always a big thing for me.

Well well well. Who'd have thought. Now just watch the Tahs banana skin next week in Newcastle v Sunwolves as they rest all their Wallabies. I don't even care that my tips are in tatters this week.
Great game though! Tahs defence, set piece, positional kicking, and bench impact went a long way to winning that game. In no world did I see myself saying those things this year.
Everyone's favourite punching bag Ned had a good game. Starting to show the promise he has had for a while now. Holloway some great involvements too with his try and held up maul. Even Gilbert looked good with some great runs, clearance kicks, and making a nuisance with his defensive reads.
For the Crusaders their defence kept them in it. Tahs had so much time in their 22 and attacking lineouts they could have won by more! Probably a bit too tricky and the only rolling maul they did play was from halfway which marched them into the 22 for a penalty advantage then the cross field bomb for Izzy's try.
In saying all this the Crusaders are a different beast without Mounga at 10 and Read hasn't even put his boots on yet this season! I'd add Owen Franks as a crucial element to their piece as well, out today with a niggle. Layer in the missed game last week and the terrible events in Christchurch maybe I shouldn't be so surprised that the Tahs pulled this one off.

I never kicked for goal in rugby but I still don't know why they go so hard on conversions [I get penalties as they want them to go dead if they miss]. Trying to slam it every time is problematic. Kickers should be trained to wind it back for conversions, like a second serve in tennis (may I suggest feather touch).

Yes but you have Phil Kearns to balance it out by noticing everything possibly negative that the opposition do and never seeing anything bad that the Waratahs do. They really should get some commentators who are unbiased - Greg Clark calling his son's games is bad too - do they not have anyone else they can use?
