Super Rugby AU Round 2 - Reds vs Rebels

KOB1987

Rod McCall (65)
This is a disaster.

I watched the first 1/2 thru gritted teeth.
swapped over to souths/tigers, was struck by the increased pace, enthusiasm and atmosphere.
felt guilty, swapped back.
This is tears.
I think I’m done.
I just switched back and forth a few times out of curiosity. The loig was shit too. The thing that made the broadcasts better, dare I say it, was the fake crowd noise. Just made it seemed like a better atmosphere. It was still shit though.

It's not a lack of physicality that's hurt the game. There's actually been quite a number of very willing hits out there. It's the poor handling and dumb shit around in regards to penalties. It's almost as though that despite the season being in the cooler, wetter months neither team has thought to practice executing their skills in the wet.

Only it hasn’t been wet. March and April were wet, May and June were reminiscent of last year. Up here at least that is.

Great try to tie it but the concept of time itself may have morphed into a malleable non-linear construct during this rugby football match. See the minutes bend and refract in the rain, like so many nebulous particles distended in the time-continuum kaleidoscope. I am now convinced I am witnessing my first-ever 4-hour rugby football match. And now "extra time". What is extra time when the notion of time itself has lost all meaning?

I’m at the game and fuck if this isn’t an exciting end I don’t know what will satisfy you. Even the fucking DJ is keeping up with how absolutely stupid this game is. But it’s enthralling

Like watching a train crash :)
