Super Rugby Rd 10 Waratahs v Rebels

Up the Guts

Steve Williams (59)
Yeah it's a side affect of slo-mo, by the rule book it's a red but like with a bit of common sense you can see the chest was first point of contact then his head snapped forward onto his pillow shoulders.
Think Berry realised that and tried to ref the Rebels home after that.

Pretty pleased with that victory: two red cards, a yellow and still beat them by 11 points. Some enterprising play. Glad I don't have to think about losing that game for the next few weeks before TT.

Well I think I called it. Interesting game to watch for two teams with nothing to play for.

Pitty Berry did his best to ruin it but with no real consequences it did not bother me as much as it would have and I enjoyed that.

The new guidelines are a mess but both reds were reckless due to coming in high at high speed. You go for that zone just below shoulders you will spend plenty of time on the sideline due to low margin of error. Pone’s was the more reckless.

Yeah I'm not too fussed with either, players will get it right eventually. I like the new red card rule for that reason, this is a transition period so a bit of understanding is needed.

Interesting questioning of Perese by Kelly, bit probing there. But fair play to Perese, he took it on well.

I'm a bit surprised and impressed by the commentary team's questioning of players/coaches. I swear it was much nicer and back-patting with Fox, they do ask some difficult questions.
