Super Rugby Rd 3: Brumbies v Waratahs in Canberra

KOB1987

Rod McCall (65)
Game on. The shit-Tahs are holding the (allegedl) best provincial rugby team in the Southern Hemisphere (if not the world) to a converted try, with time on the clock. I’m good with that.

This whole penalising the team going back to collect a bomb just in courage’s more turgid NH rugby. Yes, I know it’s raining, but attacking players will aim for defenders getting back to the ball and fall over, arms out.

That was the slowest buildup to a try I've ever seen.

Short, quick hands but static line, then BANG.

Samu only gets a look in for the Wallabies because of McKellar yeah? Harris and Wilson have been outplaying him over the first three rounds.
Valentini be 8 for the Wallabies... Samu covers all 3 backrow positions..

Another clear collapse by the ponies but he ponders on it for half a minute and calls a reset.

I’m ok with Samu being picked ahead of them last year. This year so far though, no way.

Well, if you'd told me we could come away from Canberra at this stage of the journey with a bonus point, I'd have taken it.

Well - I thought that was a good contest. Plenty of spice and plenty of barbs exchanged. Some clever work and some less subtle stuff.

The game was pretty good too.
