Looking forward to the team running out in Blue on Friday.
It's been a long time between drinks at home.

The flag thing is interesting. RWV not have an Australian one?
Maybe he declared for fiji officially in the off chance of being considered for the WC? If he finishes the Super Rugby season well as a regular starter it couuuuullllddd be a chance - though they have Nathan Hughes back in frame as well.

Born and raised in Australia but yeh..interesting. On a side note, I wonder if he regrets leaving Japan. Good chance of being capped there by now had he shifted back from the sunwolves to another team - instead he got enticed back by RA in the view of being a wallaby - fell short clearly. Not rated by Tahs, got dropped, then absolutely dominated Shute Shield and then had a ball bullying the Tahs 2nd XV and now starting in Super Rugby again.

Fines has both because he can be eligible for both still (but so is Rabs...) - turned down Australia A so he could keep his Fiji eligibility alive. They would do well to get Lomani, Matawalu and Fines. Fines is a step up from Sorovi, another capped Fijian in Super Rugby.

I actually took Force in my picks on this game, not sure how Drua will back up after last week, and the travel.

I hope than while visiting Perth, Angus Gardner gets the chance to catch up with Jake Strachan and explain why he, and the other match officials, did nothing about Swinton’s unlawful hit on him only 30 seconds into the game against the Tahs. An apology wouldn’t go astray.
Swinton hasn’t played since – and rightly so – but neither has Stachan, due to concussion protocols, and all he was doing was playing rugby.

For the last time, blame the TMO NOT Angus. The hit was after the ball was kicked - how do you expect him to see that and manage the offsides, potential obstructions/escorts and the ball landing.

Not for the last time - and you're entitled to your opinion - this is a forum after all.
The buck stops at the top - with the bloke in charge of the game and who ignored the pleas from the WF players to have the TMO investigate the cause of the HIA on Strachan..

What's a ref to do? Listen to the players on the opposing team or trust his TMO. Given the quality of some of the TMO's, that's not an easy question to answer.

Perhaps request the TMO to investigate if there was anything unlawful associated with the HIA - which is all that the players were requesting.

I've just watched it again and I think you are substantially overstating Force players calling for it to be looked at. It's hard to identify any significant requests whatsoever. Play continues after the kick for some time before there's a stoppage in play for a scrum and absolutely nothing is said at that point.

It's not until a minute or so after that when the Tahs get a penalty and kick for touch that Strachan is brought off the field for an HIA and that comes from the Force sending Kuenzle on to replace him as opposed to Strachan going down and needing attention.

I completely agree that the TMO missed it and should not have but I find it really hard to fault Gardner for missing something in back play that he would never be looking at.

Anyway...

Looking forward to this game tonight. We've gone OK at home and the Drua have been pretty excellent at times this season. Hopefully it'll be end to end stuff with about 13 tries.

6583 in Perth tonight for all those who ask about crowds. Up against peak hour traffic and the Eagles at Optus
