I believe all of these were accomplished against Aloys in the last 4 years... I also believe that Wheals and Turinui were benched in this game as well... (possibly Sherlock but don't know for a fact)...

If this doesn't force change I don't know what will. I really hope it's not going to take a serious injury to be a catalyst for what we all know should happen anyways.

Yes, same as the way all the biggest team scores on record have been run up against SAC in the same period. It’s not sustainable, which is not meant as a criticism of SAC - who should be playing against other academically selective schools like Grammar and High.

Cranbrook have worked hard to build their program for the last few years and should be congratulated for the big changes and development.

A different bounce of the ball(and a different touchy) would see them playing for the premiership this week.

Not trying to be an ass, but the program has a long way to go as Knox won pretty much everything except 2nds from what i have been told, and Waverly dominated most of the Knox sides. As many people have pointed out when having a go at Barker, a program is more than the top team.

CAS rugby across the board has a long way to go in this regard.

One way to get the schools to concentrate on a program over individual teams is to create a club championship system as well as the 1s and 2s premierships.

I have also been told by a Cranbrook parent that the school strongly discourages students from playing for club sides on Sunday whether it be Union or League.

I find that odd. Risk of injury is a massive concern and I get that, but playing for a local Eastern suburbs team can only improve the quality of the players playing for the school.

Oakhill results ( ISA I know) have improved greatly in the last several years as most of the boys played high level Sunday footy or league rep teams. Not driven by the school at all but just the way it worked out

Correct Ziggy, at a minimum over the last 10 years, following the strategy of some Waves dads who are very involved with Randwick, a large number of Waves boys have been playing both together at school and in the Randwick Juniors, every Sat/Sunday for many years, and clearly combinations have been formed that eventually culminate in our Opens teams. Some also play league but the minority.

I am confident this strategy occurs in other schools, and aside from natural talent, is certainly a major contributing factor to success.

I must say as a CAS student and parent of a GPS rugby player, I was very impressed spending the bulk of a Sat morning at Oakhill. A real rugby school through and through. Games on all the ovals all morning and at least 20 teams from what I saw on the program. A jewell of the ISA.
